FINS Windtamer is also a 100 per spectra braid, but with additional processing. Windtamer braid has been treated by means of a proprietary process resulting in a compacted round and smooth structure with a firm body. This enables Windtamer to pack very well on reels without pulling into itself and cuts through the wind to cast without wind knots and rod tip wrapping. Saltwater inshore fishing is a situation where Windtamer stands out, particularly for those using bait casting reels. FINS new pink color features low visibility below the water and high visibility above the water.

Poor Customer Service
Line seems like it may be good. However, the service and/or lack-of is why I am rating this so low. I purchased a couple different spools of Fins Windtamer and the 1500-yard spool had the same amount of line as the 500-yard spool so I contacted their office (well I attempted to contact them) so that they would know that there was an issue but the only response I get back is one saying: "Your email complaint has been forwarded to Mr. Dave Burch, owner of FINS. Mr. Burch will make contact with you within 48-72 hours." Here we are 240 hours later still no response. That tells me either they do not care about their customer's or they have so many complaints that they can't stay on top of them.To take it a little further I contacted a couple of the pro-staff members, listed on their website. They told me they didn't sue the braid anymore and both recommended a different braid. :(Fins Spectra 1500-Yards Windtamer Fishing Line, Slate Green, 30-Pound

Love it! May stick with braid now...
I've started using this for bay fishing on both my casting and spinning rigs and I absolutely love it. I've been happy with Big Game 10 and 12 pound mono for years until my buddies finally talked me into trying braid. Started with Power Pro and Suffix 832 and besides the big spend, could not stand the wind knots on the spinning gear and impossible to untangle backlashes. After reading some suggestions on the fishing forums to try FINS 20 pound, I gave it a shot and cannot be happier. Casting distance is awesome and there are seldom any issues with knots and tangles... So all the upsides of braid without the downsides. I tie an improved Albright knot connection to 20 pound mono leader and have had no failures. On a recent trip we landed four 40+ pound big-ugly black drum. I understand there have been more improvements in braid and the coatings used, but this stuff works so well and is not as expensive in these bulk spools. I'm hooked!

Best Line I've ever used.
I've been a big Spiderwire fanatic for a long time, but this string is fantastic. My cork and lure would get twisted with Spiderwire in the wind, but not so much with the Windtamer. I highly recommend getting over 20 pound test, as it's extremely thin and light. I prefer the 50 pound test for everyday fishing, and it's great for when the big boys get on your line. I fish SE Louisiana targeting speckled trout and primarily redfish.

Quality Fishing Line
This is my first time using a FINS product but had to try it after reading their reviews on many fishing blogs. This line delivers on its advertised features. I have not experienced a single wind knot but insured that I did not overfill the reel. The line has a great feel and lays consistently on the spool with no dig in. There is no bleeding of color like I get with PowerPro and some other brands of braid. This is my first solid core braid which has not disappointed me with failing to meet its advertised claims. I will need to try their XS (Extra Smooth) line next.

like any braid
I use the 30lb braid on all of my spinning reels when fishing with live bait. I also have this braid on my baitcasters. It is easier to get back lashes out than mono, but if you get the line twisted around anything, like any braid, its a disaster.

Fantastic fishing line for bait-casters and spinning reels
I fish south Louisiana brackish water with FINS Windtamer. Truly the best braid I've ever used. I'm starting to test FINS new 40g, but Windtamer is my go to line for Trout, Redfish, and flounder fishing. I fish this line with a 2'-5' mono leader when used on topwater baits or 2'-8' monofilament leader with subsurface baits.- Shimano 300EJ Curado- Shimano 200g7 Curado- Shimano Stradic 3000FJ- Penn Battle II- Penn CFT6000

The Jury is still out
I felt the slate green would be ideal for the Mississippi River water. However the water was very clear down to eight feet . The green line was visible down about 3 ft. The color would be better in different light/water conditions. That said, this line is very strong and has no stretch. It casts well without nesting. The jury is still out. Will update with more time on varying water conditions.

Great braided line.
This braid is great on a windy day. It works great on calm days as well. I have used several other brands, but I like Fins the best.
