Ace High Black Cat Pomade, Firm Hold, High Shine, Oil Based, Hand Crafted, 4oz

Not what I hoped for. I’ve bn trying several pomades and read that this had a firm hold and pleasant scent. I didn’t find this to be true. It took me a while to place the smell but it’s like Carmex lip balm or almost like Ben Gay. Second was I found it super sticky to my hands. All pomades I’ve tried I could simply rinse off of my hands. This stuff I have to use very warm water and soap to scrub it off. With that kind of stickiness you’d think it would hold great. It doesn’t. I have waved to straight hair. I pull up the front of my hair to stick it up but this didn’t work when I tried to do my normal routine. There are other options that r cheaper and without an odd scent.Update: when trying to wash out I actually had to rinse and repeat but even after washing twice with daily cleansing shampoo it was still in my hair. Not sure if I got a bad batch but it’s being returned.

Black Cat Pomade is a high quality product that provides the right amount of shine & hold for defining sculpted curls & accentuating baby hairs. It has a great workable texture & easily melts when you rub your hands together. Plus, it smells clean & fresh. By far, this is the best pomade I have ever used. I've tried a ton of pomades that claim "firm hold, high shine" only to be disappointed when it dries and my hair falls flat/out of place and looks like I never used any of it in the first place. Even worse, some have "over done" their job, making my hair crunchy and stiff as a board on top of making it look greasy instead of shiny (there's a difference).This stuff, on the other hand, is a breath of fresh air. Not only does it smell incredible (very fresh, I'd say like peppermint, but that's just me), but it also keeps my hair in place looking super nice AND with a smooth shine that doesn't look like I haven't showered in two weeks. And for an oil-based pomade, it cleans really easily with regular shampoo. I personally don't even need a degreaser like with others I've tried.Also, as a Metro-Detroit native/resident myself, it's really cool to me that these guys are local on top of having a great product. Will definitely come back for more once I've used it up!

This pomade is light considering it is an oil based product. It smells fantastic and has good texture and is easy to apply. It washes out with standard shampoo and hot water, no need for dish soap. It does not fully come out when using something like groom and clean, which is not a huge issue. Fresh but neutral scent, and despite being a light pomade, you get a lot of use out of a small amount. Definitely worth the extra couple bucks. This pomade is ideal for people who like to comb throughout the day and build up a layer over a couple days.I have thick and wavy hair, for reference.

I just recently purchased this particular Oil pomade and thought to myself that i want to give this Pomade a try.I immediately felt the difference between the black cat pomade and the other ones i used prior ! Black cat pomade scoops out very smooth and is also very easy to rub it on your hands.I personally like the smell,the consistency of the pomade is remarkable and also very nice and easy to put into hair without any hassle,not to mention the 6 simple ingredients -A HUGE plus ! I really like the pomade and will buy this one from now on !Great oil pomade for any kind of a Gentlemans haircut.

A good pomade, holds well without being too stiff, overly greasy or excessively sticky. Can be re-combed at room temperature. Good minimal ingredients and they can all be pronounced without a degree in science. The tin is a winner- cool logo and layout plus the lid is threaded, a big plus as it is a chore to try to open a greasy press fit lid. Scent is eucalyptus and citrus, fairly mild.

I liked the scent. It has a heavy feel on the head, normal for an oil based pomade. it combs in nicely, but for me it felt very thick. I have thicker hair any ways, so it seemed extra heavy.Good product though, my hair stayed in place all day facing high winds outside several times. I'll try this brand again.

Tremendous. My hair is perfect after a full day of teaching. Extremely strong hold compared to my other oil-based pomades, but stays smooth and sleek without looking clumpy.Easy to restyle with a dry comb, easy to shape. I'm delighted.The odor is slightly sweet and nondescript in the tin and more or less unnoticeable out of it, which is disappointing. I would love to smell as good as I look.
