Dickinson Yes! But get a different edition.
PROS: It’s Dickinson! It’s inexpensive. If you’re strapped for cash, you can get it used cheap.CONS: Her poems are not accurately printed. Heavy editing, it’s almost censorship. Cheaply made book and poorly laid out pages.Solution: Get the accurate and nicely readable “Readers’ Edition” of her poems here on Amazon. If you get a used paperback, rated Very Good, it should cost about the same price as this one new. It’s better in every way— a truly sensational edition of these poems.

Too much of a good thing
The book is a little over two inches thick. Of course, it has to be. The margins are ample, however, so none of the text is compromised as it curves in to the gutter. However, there is a reason the few dozen well-known poems by Dickinson are well known: they are the best ones. This complete collection reveals the unevenness of her writing. I'd prefer a hardbound, attractive volume with just her better poems, but then I'd have that nagging feeling I was missing a hidden gem. What a conundrum!

Good book but a bit scuffed up.
It is a great read, compiling her works all of witch are quite well written. The only issue I found was some quality, it may have resulted from the fact it is a paperback but the book arrived with some dented edges and other blemishes.

It’s a pretty big book, about 2 inches wide (didn’t measure)
I love this book so much, I only got it a few weeks ago and I’m already half way done and totally In love with it and all of her poems. I would recommend it 100%

Here is Dickinson's intended version.
Most of Dickinson's collections contain poems that are not in her intended form. That's because an editor changed the poems prior to publishing them not long after Dickinson's death. However, this collection edited by Thomas H. Johnson has Dickinson's original syntax and words. The difference can be stark.Consider poem 1544. Here is the modified version:Who has not found the heaven below Will fail of it above.God's residence is next to mine, His furniture is love. Here is the intended version:Who has not found the Heaven -- below --Will fail of it above --For Angels rent the House next ours,Wherever we remove --To me, there is no comparison. If you agree, get the Thomas Johnson version. But be cautious--it looks like only the hardback is the intended i.e., Thomas Johnson, version.

Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson's poetry was revolutionary, so much so, that, not only was it not published until after her death, when it was published, editors "smoothed out" the rhymes and "corrected" her unusual punctuation. If you find a book of her poems without dashes within the lines, for instance, it's [probably one of those edited volumes. Both her unusual rhymes and her unusual punctuation are integral to the rhythm, sound, and meaning of each verse. She captures oral language in its cadence. This volume of all 1,775 of her poems has gone back to the original manuscripts she left. For under $10.00 you can really read Dickinson,Reading and understanding her poetry is a lifetime pasttime. I usually read one long or two or three of her short poems every day or two. First, I write down the rhymes, which are idiosyncratic, the alliteration, puns, unusual word usages, and metaphors. Then I tease out the meaning of the poem, and finally read it aloud to get the cadence. One interesting aspect of her poetry is that occasionally she wrote two versions of the same poem. They are presented together in this volume. This is for poetry readers, obviously, but also for people who love language and like to analyze what is being done with it.

Faithful Dickinson
Great poems, with informative introduction and helpful chronological information. Well edited too -- gives multiple versions for you to compare side by side when appropriate (when Dickinson wrote and revised over a period of time) and does not try to sand off the edges by replacing Dickinson's idiosyncratic punctuation and capitalization with standardized ones.
