The Temples of Karnak

What’s the largest religious site on Earth? No not The Vatican or Mecca, it’s Karnak. Which took the longest to build…no, not La Segrada Familia, or Lincoln Cathedral, it’s Karnak.Honestly one of the most stunning coffee table art books I’ve ever seen, only it’s also a work of art/ancient history. How Karnak was left out of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World I’ll never know, though one suspects Egypt having two, they felt three would be overkill

I've seen this book selling on esoteric bookseller websites for over $100. It's huge, and comes with a slipcase. I'm teaching myself to read hieroglyphs and look forward to reading the history written on the walls photographed in this beautiful book. Great coffee table book - a good conversation starter.I especially like the frame of reference the artist uses - you get a glimpse at just how massive this temple was.

This book is BIG and HEAVY! I was surprised but it is a fantastic book. The photos are crisper than I have seen in other books. The detail is really remarkable. I bought it for visual reference primarily. I seems that most new research in ancient history from the Ancient Near East is by French, German, or even Polish scientists. Unfortunately most results are in journals and in their native languages. I am glad this one was translated into English.

I have been wanting this book ever since I first saw in the Univ of WA bookstore back in the early 2000's. The pictures are incredible. You're not going to find a more complete record of this beautiful temple. It was worth every penny.

Simply a must have if you're looking to really get deep into Egypt. All his works are must haves
