I got this and the Anarch books after the reprint because of the controversy and, although the writing and art are good, it is only 200 pages and not a real source book. It is more like a collection of information in the form of reports and records for story ideas. Not worth $45. Maybe $20 - $25 for the volume.

V5 or Version 5 of Vampire has its ups and downs. I will not trash or praise the mechanics of it here not only because haven’t used the new mechanics yet, but also it is a matter of personal choice if you like them or not. Like every White Wolf book before this one, they have great “cannon” ideas and settings, to which I pick and choose what elements to use and ignore at will. Which is my point. WW games have always been about player and storyteller agency.You make the world as you and your players see fit. High player “hero”...sure.Sheer personal horror which would make someone shiver..sure.However you like it, White Wolf has always allowed us to peak into the darkness, even if we don’t like looking at ourselves.

It is a lore book not a source book. For the price I cannot recommend this. It is a collection of stories not rules necessary to play the game. Sure you can extrapolate but you will be doing that for every single section of this book.I'mI would rate this lower but the book is crafted impeccably well. I just feel like the author who wrote this never got a copy of the core book to read or review.

This book is full of information. Use it to create backstories, campaigns, or just get a better understanding of the World of Darkness.The clan included inside, gives even more options to players and storytellers. Another great reference tool for anyone interested in embracing it...

i used to buy these books for the vampire art. but now its just photography, good photography, but no more drawings :(

Actually it is quite good. Some of the stories in there were gripping. Highly recommend.
