Work, if you are careful
These work well if you are very careful when placing plates, but don't bump them! They are not very sturdy and slip open easily.

Wasn't sure if I ordered the right size but yay I did! The 4" are perfect for an 8" plate. Glad they came in a six pack! Look great on display!
