Provided protection in heavy rain storm
Jacket provided good protection during recent heavy rain storms. Not so keen on the peak on Hood but that is personal preference

lightwight hooded jacket at a competetive price.
As a keen all season runner, I need a reliable, functional and cost effective wet weather solution for road and trail running. The Highlander Waterproof Packaway Jacket seemed to fit my requirements, since its stated features included; an adjustable hood, breathability, wind and rain resistance, and a lightweight construction. In addition, the Highlander was (and remains so at the time of writing), available in various colours. At just shy of six feet, and with a 39 inch chest, I chose a medium, since I like to don a base layer, over which I sometimes wear a long sleeve winter running top. Would the Highlander Waterproof Packaway Jacket be up to the job?I had my first opportunity to try the Highlander on a weekday morning run under suitably windy conditions. With the hood adjusted via the velcro type fastener, ditto for the cuffs, jacket zipped up against the oncoming wind, and running gloves stuffed in the zippered side pockets, I set off. I was pleased to discover that the Highlander kept the wind out, thereby leaving me free to concentrate on my running. So far so good. At three or so miles, I began to notice a build-up of moisture on the inner surface. While not a big issue for me, particularly at this price point; I do understand that moisture build-up may be an issue for some. I unzipped the jacket somewhat, loosened the cuffs off, and completed my run. Total distance was five miles with gentle inclines. How would the Highlander perform in wet and windy conditions? I was about to find out; since on my next run, I was greeted by moderate yet persistent rain, and a boisterous westerly wind. As I started out down the long steep road, I was assailed by a strong wind and driving rain. Not a problem. With the Highlander fully zipped up, and the hood deployed and fitted correctly, one can keep the worst of the weather out-an absolute necessity on this particular day! I reached the bottom of the mile-long road; thankfully the Highlander was keeping the rain and wind out. I continued for the next two miles with the same results. As on my previous outing, I did observe a build-up of moisture, however this time it was less evident. Pressing on a further one and a half miles, I felt completely unencumbered by the Highlander. I continued uphill for two miles, after which I stopped to check the interior of the jacket. Zero rain penetration. Total distance was five miles; over an undulating circuit, with moderate inclines. I will provide further information in regard to the Highlander's wind and rain resistance, subsequent to further outings. Now some jackets tend to provide a somewhat noisy running experience. While not a deal breaker, the Highlander does emit a relatively quiet swishing sound. I make mention of this, since it may be an issue for some. As for the length; it has a scalloped back, which terminates at approximately mid-buttock height (although your mileage may vary). I have no main zip fowling issues to report, however I will provide an update should this situation change.Although I chose the Highlander for running on wet and windy days, I would have no issue wearing it for a trip to the shops. Moreover, I imagine that it might perhaps be a practical proposition for dog owners/walkers too. Finally, as a packable jacket with its own stuff-sack, it's a veritable no brainer for those requiring a lightweight, bag friendly, wet weather option. So, all things considered, I rate this as a very worthwhile purchase. That being said, I will briefly note the pros and cons of the Highlander Waterproof Packaway Jacket.Pros: Generous adjustable peaked hood, adjustable cuffs and waist, twin zippered side pockets, scalloped back, a variety of colours, rain resistant, wind resistant, lightweight, price.Cons: Moisture build-up, slightly noisy when running.I would recommend this jacket for runners, cyclists, and for those who like to have a lightweight packable wet weather solution.Suggested improvement: I would like the manufacturer to provide a wired hood as standard, although I do understand that such an addition may have to be reflected in the price.

Poor Size
Nice jacket but sizing seems wrong. My husband has a medium - way too big for me so I ordered a small. Small measured 34” medium measured 42”. 8” difference ??Couldn’t even do it up - seems like an extra small. Contacted seller but no help.

Lightweight Mack
Not quite what I expected, even for the 30 quid. It’s a thin pac-a-mack, seams are not taped and the hood’s peak is far too floppy for actual use. But its pockets are ok, the zips move easily and it has its own small stuff-sac. So it’ll live in the car’s boot/trunk for emergency use.
