Performances great tool
This is a great tool. My kitchen tile after 10 years was looking pretty nasty. Grout cleaners did nothing to improve the appearance. I read some of the reviews on this tool and decided to try it. It is very simple to use. Slant it slightly, put some pressure on it , and push forward. It takes the grout out with ease.I had to get on my hands and knee to do it. Knees on a pillow of course. It took me a couple days to get the whole floor done. Mainly because I am a 77 year old woman. It took me a couple of days to apply new grout. Then a couple days later, just a few minutes to apply a high gloss sealer. About 10 minutes per coat. I put two coats. I am so proud of my work. I never would have finished this project if the grout remover tool hadn’t worked so well. This is a great little tool. I recommend highly.

Didn't Work for Me
I need to remove about a dozen wall tiles in a bathroom so that a plumber can get behind to adjust the pipework, and I want to try to save the tiles to avoid retiling the entire bathroom. First step is to dig out the grout from all around the tiles to be removed. I don't know what makes some grout harder than others -- we used ordinary bathroom (waterproof) grout 11 years ago, but it seems to be pretty hard now. I started by using a manual grout saw. It worked, but it was tough going. It took me about 6 hours to remove 30 or so inches of grout. So I thought I'd go power tool to finish the job, and picked this one because it is a dedicated tool for the job, supposedly designed by a professional tiler; plus, it claims to create less dust than a reciprocating saw with a grout removing blade.Well, it may work well with soft or disintegrated grout, but then so does a manual grout saw. With my grout it made hardly a dent. Because my grout lines are a slightly less than 1/8" thick in places, I began by using the bit for narrow grout lines, which is shaped rather like an awl. It did absolutely nothing! Then I switched to the 1/8" bit, which is shaped like a tiny chisel. It didn't mar the tiles, but it also made very little impact on the grout. It chipped a few small pieces away, but mostly it ground at the grout like a reciprocating saw blade and created just as much dust. Except it didn't get very far. After 1/2 hour, I had removed maybe one third of the depth of the grout on one side of one tile -- i.e. about 6 inches. I'm not sure this tool would EVER have removed all the grout, but if it would, judging from my progress it would have taken about 90 minutes for one 6-inch length of grout, which is slower going than I achieved with a manual grout saw!Because it is guaranteed to work, I'm returning it tomorrow and buying a Dremel Multi-Max.UPDATE: The Dremel MM with a grout-removing blade did the job!!

I am very happy with the tool so far
My Regrout Tool arrive 2 days ago. I was excited to get to work on my shower and immediately set out to see how my investment works! I am very happy with the tool so far. After only 2.5 hrs of working I have most of the large wall removed. I find the tool works best when you LET IT DO THE WORK!!! Yes, it's loud, so wear hearing protection. Wear a dust mask if you can because there is still a bunch of dust, though a great majority does come out in chunks. It's the rock-solid grout that comes out as dust and it doesn't fly everywhere if you keep the bathroom door closed. :) I will post photos of the project once I am done to include before, during and after shots! To any who have bought this product and felt it was junk, I will only say that they were trying to go too fast and holding the tool too tight. I am a housewife and I have NEVER done any grout removal before in my lifetime. This has been a SNAP so far and I would recommend this tool!

It is too lightweight for grouting.
It is a handy tool. I did not accomplish the task that it was purchased for, but will come in handy elsewhere.

Time saver and the price is right !
Bought this tool to remove grout from my kitchen counter tops, back splash and also in bathroom on 4" ceramic tile with 1/16 to 1/8 grout lines. My home was built in 1977. It works great ! and has saved me alot of time and effort. I first bought a hand grout saw and started my project with it, and soon realized I would wear myself out and it would take too long to do the job.I also like the fact that it chips the grout out instead of grinding it out, so very little dust is created and clean-up is easy, not to mention the health benefit from not breathing the dust in ! I don't think I would use it for floor tile with 1/4" grout lines, too much to ask of this little guy !Thanks RT

Works as expected
I bought this to remove recently laid grout on a kitchen backsplash. I did not like the grout color and did not want to live with it for the next 20 years. I used several different tools including an oscillator, pointed scraper and utility knife. This tool was light weight and was great in harder to reach places. It didn't remove the grout as quickly as the oscillator but was easier to maneuver and didn't damage the tile if my hand slipped. Would recommend especially for smaller jobs.

Not helpful at all
I was hoping this would work well because I have a bad back and am regrouting my shower by myself. Honestly, this is like trying to remove the grout with an electric toothbrush. It shaves a very small layer of grout off at a time. It doesn't dig into the grout, it doesn't gouge the grout. I don't have the time or energy to go over each grout line the 50-100 times this tool would need to remove 1 grout line. I feel like while this tool was a good idea, it doesn't do what it's supposed to and was a waste of 40 bucks because I got more grout out with a hammer and flathead screwdriver.

Very helpful tool!!
This product worked very well for me. Our tile is exactly the same age as the video that shows you how to use it. The grout popped right out. We are in a rental and there were places that the owners had caulked where they should have put grout. That did not come out so easily. Our shower took about 3 hours to do with some breaks to let the tool cool down. I was very happy to have it to use. It made a daunting job much easier and as a first timer, that was a big bonus. I am not sure that it is powerful enough to get newer thicker grout out though.
