Aqua MedsArctic Blend 32 oz

Despite freezing conditions this seemed to do the job. No nitrites whatsoever any time I checked. I only did one water exchange the whole winter because it was mostly frozen over except for where the heater and bubbler was. PH was perfect too. A little algae grew but very little sludge from leaves/fish present. My fish GREW during the winter which is unreal and surprising. They are happy healthy and playful and look great this spring! Very happy with this product. I did t expect them to survive so I’m grateful. I also used barley extract. And air stones. Still have lots of algae but I can see my fish.

I thanks Aqua Meds for this wonderful product, Even more importantly, my 10 happy and healthy koi thank Aqua Meds for this product, which has seen them take on the crushing Winters of Lake Ontario's shoreline without the slightest appearance of trauma. I'll continue to buy this product and think, if you own koi and want to keep them for as long as my wife and I have had ours (28 years) you should buy this product, too. Even several inches of ice on the pond's surface, each winter, no longer concerns us. With good filtration, plenty of aeration and Aqua Med's Arctic Blend, we are reasonably confident that our koi will once again be feeding from our hands once Spring begins (in no small part, to this wonderful product).

This bacteria is amazing! We live in Northern California and we enlarged our pond in September and tried one filter that didn't work so we replaced it in October. By that time the water temperature was in the 50's and it was too cold for the nitrifying bacteria to work. After many water changes and a lot of ammonia nutralizing treatments, the level was still sky high. The fish was surviving and I had resigned myself to a winter of water changes and treatments. Then I found Arctic Blend and within 3 weeks, the ammonia was down to zero. Amazing! I will be using this every winter.

Works well to keep my koi alive in winter

I have used this for the past three winters. In the spring, I have had no issues with ulcer disease or anything else. The only advise is: don't leave it in your unheated shed as I did at first. It will freeze solid.
