We have a 10-year-old that is so obsessed with dunking that he has destroyed every other basketball goal we've had that he could find a way to dunk on. A flimsy hang over your door Christmas gift that lasted about a month. Then there was the trampoline basketball goal with the foam breakaway rim. Found a way to break it too. Eventually broke the adjustable full-size basketball goal we have in the driveway, dunking on it with a small exercise trampoline on it's lowest height. This kid literally sits around watching old slam dunk contests on YouTube on a regular basis. So searching for the Christmas present that would give him hours of dunking fun but also hold up, was a really long and in-depth process.When I found this goal, I originally balked at the price. I'm like, really? Can I spend that much for a little mini hoop just for dunking on? That's more than a cheap full-size adjustable goal. But, if it really holds up as advertised, and he can dunk on it without breaking it, then it would be worth it. So we order it. Hoping it's going to fix our kid-with-a-need-to-dunk issue.And let me tell you, this thing was and has been the absolute hit of Christmas with both of my boys. We have a 9-year-old too and they battle it out in every sport but basketball is their favorite. They have spent countless hours in our garage dunking on this goal and it has held up like a champ. Every single bit of the frame of the goal has been amazingly sturdy. The rim is a real deal breakaway rim like you'd expect on an expensive, full-size goal. My wife and I stood there watching them several times when I first put it up, judging for ourselves just how hard they could dunk on this thing without breaking it or tearing our wall apart. And it seems to just take it without any sign of "too much". There isn't a too much. We have watched them throw alley-oops to each other that look like NBA highlights and this thing just takes it all.Until 2 weeks ago. Finally, the backboard broke. The boys were scared to tell us for the first week. They thought they'd be in trouble. I know this may sound crazy to anyone reading this but I can honestly say that even though this thing ended up breaking in 4 months' time, it was still worth every penny. That's how much fun they've had on it. They've continued to play on it even with the broken backboard. It looks like the break is going to end up making the entire middle of the board come off soon though.I'm not sure if it has a manufacturer warranty or not that would cover this (the Amazon return window has passed) but if not I would be more than willing to buy a new backboard if you sell individual replacement parts. If you can help get me up and going again and my boys enjoying this goal again, especially now that they are here all day long every day with the Covid-19 quarantine, I would LOVE to come back and upgrade my review to 5 Stars! In no way am I trying to hold that 5th star hostage to make you give me something for free. As great a product as this goal is, if it truly only lasted 4 months and cost us $160, it's worthy of 4 stars due to the backboard's lack of durability. However, if it is covered under a warranty or I can replace it for a decent price and they can continue having the kind of fun they've been having on it, then it's worthy of 5 stars for sure.PS I would post a picture of the broken backboard if it allowed it but not seeing a way to do that.UPDATE: The manufacturer contacted me immediately and handled the issue flawlessly. The RamGoal has a lifetime warranty with a few exceptions. Also, found out that since we purchased the RamGoal, they have upgraded the backboard to make it even more sturdy. They took care of the issue by sending us a replacement with the sturdier, upgraded backboard and I went ahead and bought the new 10" rim that they offer as well. It's rare to find great American made companies that make a quality product with a warranty they stand behind. This is definitely one of them! I would recommend this goal and this company to anyone that would listen! Thank you!

Our kids love this goal! We set it up in the garage and it has worked out great! They love having dunking contest. It holds up great!

The media could not be loaded. After our son broke 5 over the door basketball hoops, we started looking for a serious upgrade. Came across the RAMgoal , read all about how it was created for the very same reasons -- no over the door hoop can hold up to the continuous play and dunks ( at least not in this house). We purchased it, installed it and our son has been SUPER happy playing on it since! Many family fun games with shoot out, dunk contests, and games of PIG. It is the REAL DEAL as far as quality, it is adjustable to different levels, and fairly easy to put together. We LOVE!Most importantly! The owner sent a business card with the hoop with his email address on it which we kept with the directions. Why is that important? Because last week, our son hung on it (def NOT recommended) and broke a piece in the rim. We reached out to see if we could buy another and repair. The owner sent us the part we needed, free shipping, along with a video on how to install it. Wellllll, my husband STILL couldn't figure it out and reached back out to the owner (Matt). He personally called my husband, put him on Facetime, and walked him through it!!!! ABOVE AND BEYOND customer service!!!! In no time, we were playing on it and making more videos.Thank you again Matt for your well-made hoop and especially for helping us with the repair, it made a huge impression.

High quality well constructed product that my boys really love. So much so we built a mini bball court in our basement around it. Super responsive service as well. The instructional videos on assembly were very helpful. This is what buying from small companies is all about.

The backboard and rim construction are nice, but in assembling it there are some things you need to know. 1) You need specialized tools, including the right size racket wrench attachments, plus another wrench for holding on... plus if you are using a power drill to screw it into the studs, you will need an extension for the head because of the design of the brackets, which doesn't allow you to screw it in all the way without an extender. it was not as simple as it could have been. 2) One of the screws that came with it snapped in half when we were installing, so we ended up getting our own screws that are hopefully higher quality. 3) The rim is wonky when you are trying to install the net. You will need plyers to bend some of the pieces out to get the net on, which requires scuffing the paint on the rim a little bit. I would expect better design overall for the price we paid. Besides that, once you get it installed, it is pretty nice. Our kids love it.

This was a hit at Christmas and serves as a great game for the middle schooler.

Go back to your cart and get rid of the over-the-door hoop and swap it out for the RamGoal hoop. You won’t regret it!
