The bags look nice but have a very potent odour which you can taste when eating the bread. After hand washing (lots of colour came out during washing not sure if this is natural or dye) they seem better. One of the bags came complete with bread crumbs in it … not sure how that happened! Ok for the price but doesn’t keep bread as fresh as other bags I have used.

The bags felt and smelt natural, I was apprehensive whether they would leave a smell/taste of the fabric on the bread, but they did not. Can be used in the freezer too with no problems. Just hand wash with water only no deterrents needed.

Bought to replace the use of plastic disposable bags to store home baked bread. The no fuss design is an excellent replacement for plastic and they are easy to include in the household laundry to maintain cleanliness. Expect some shrinkage, although this hasn’t affected the capacity to hold a standard large loaf. One of the cheapest alternatives on the market - just a simple muslin bag with a drawstring and no external decorations.

The linen bags are sturdy; however, on arrival, they had a strange odour, which has taken several washes to try to rid them of. I have other linen bags, but none smelt like these did.

Good bags - a little pricey and I find myself ironing them after putting into a cold machine wash. I think you are supposed to hand wash them. By accident one found itself into the tumble dryer and needless to say it’s now tiny!

Perfect for its job

Bit on the small side for home made bread, I mean it does say in the description the size. So just be sure to check this is gonna be big enough.

I make bread 2 or 3 tines a week and needed a place to store it. These work nicely for that. I also share bread with my neighbour and family - these bags are perfect for transporting the bread to them but I always make sure I get the bags back.
