The Big Bento Box of Unuseless Japanese Inventions Paperback – Illustrated, April 17, 2005

My niece is traveling to Japan next spring and I thought this was the perfect find to help keep her excited for the trip! My sister said she loved it!

This is a great book to have around the house, for visitors to enjoy. The creator clearly has a gifted sense of humor. While these are fictitious items, they are just real enough to seem like they might actually be useful. For example, the hat on the cover (made of toilet paper), while almost impossibly ridiculous, might actually be very useful during one of those colds where you have to get a Kleenex every 30 seconds. It is especially fun to turn each page of the book and see what is coming next.Highly recommended!

Interesting book showing Japanese inventions. My 13 year old son LOVES this book and was laughing at all of the unique ideas they had thought of and actually created. Great photos were included of the inventions too, that gave the reader a very clear understanding of what the creation was intended to do. If you have a son or daughter who is interested in inventions or science this would be a good read and gets their creative side thinking!!!

Really fun for the whole family to peruse. Lots of giggles along the way. We happen to live in Japan, so that makes it extra fun for us.

This book is absolutely hilarious! We gave it out as a Christmas gift to friends and they all got a great kick out of it. Each page is funnier than the previous. Definitely a great gift for a hard to buy for person.

I got it for my fiancee for Christmas, and we'd read through the whole thing by New Year's, laughing the whole way. It's for fun, creative problem-solvers who enjoy the art of inventing ways to address the daily dilemmas of life. It has pictures on each page and a short description of the item and its use. We love the book and will continue to reference it whenever we need a little pick-me-up. :)

Bought this book as a gag gift, but turned out to be a interesting conversation starter. I had no idea that these products are actually a form of satire, which makes the book even more enjoyable!
