Great. Board is nice and thick to prevent breakage but pieces are delicate so care must still be taken. Includes sand paper, wax, and tooth picks. The only thing extra you may need is something to cut the toothpicks with although I just snapped them. Includes a measuring key for toothpicks so you don't need a ruler. Includes extra of the most delicate pieces in case you break a few (which I did). Instructions are clear ( I especially like that the pieces are numbered for clarity and attention is called to places where it is easy to make mistakes due to similar looking pieces). The only thing I didn't like is how fragile some of the connections are but they worked; you just had to be careful. All in all a good kit and a great end product. Love the music and that the reindeer rise and fall as it turns.

I may be biased because I just love all wooden puzzle builds. But this is by far my favorite one. It was easy to assemble and looks adorable on a shelf. The wind up music box works perfectly as Santa and the elves spin around the Christmas tree.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my 7-year-old daughter and I to make together. I probably had more fun than she did, but she still enjoyed putting it together, and it was easy to work on as a team. I bought several more projects like this-- even if she doesn't want to put them together, I do!

You need to take your time and follow the directions. If you do, you’ll enjoy your efforts.Not sure if i would gift to a novice.

I initially had some of the same problems others did with the movement being a bit jerky. Took it apart, made sure everything was sanded and waxed WELL (including the little wheel axels). And everything works wonderfully! I did use a natural beeswax for woodwork instead of the wax chip that came with it. Maybe that made a difference? Wish this came as a deluxe kit where it could be colored for the kids to do. In my humble opinion, I’d say the assembly side of this is best for older kids to adults, as a certain degree of gentle touch is necessary. This is why I wish there was a coloring option to involve the younger kids.

This is a great product. I enjoy building kits like these, so when I saw one of these music boxes I actually bought all 3 styles. This kit went together easily following the included instructions. Good quality, with sturdy wood and accurate instructions. Pieces fit together well and look great after completion.My only real criticism would be the actual mechanics. The music box sounds great, but it needs a stronger spring/mechanism. At first I thought maybe I needed to add more paraffin, so I removed it and waxed all the parts again. Before putting it back together, I tested it, and realized that it worked the same without any other pieces to influence it. But otherwise, great kit and I would recommend it.

Whilst it goes together well, (the instructions are reasonably clear and there’s a full YouTube video which is easy to follow), once constructed it looks great but it doesn’t actually work! No sound and no movement, took so long to put together that I can’t be bothered to send back for a refund but this makes it an extremely expensive puzzle for what it is! Not happy and wouldn’t recommend but it could just be a faulty mechanism

Don’t buy this. The fencing doesn’t match up with the holes. The music doesn’t flow it stops and starts. The cocktail sticks provided to join the parts of wood are too thick to use.

Also wenn man auf Preis/Leistung schaut ist es mir Persönlich zu teuer gewesen. Ich habe anderes mit mehr Finess für den gl. Preis gekauft, was dieser Qualität übersteigt.Leider hakt es sehr und spielt nicht rund.Die Melodie ist wunderschön. Ist jedoch im ganzen betrachtet nicht zufriedenstellend.
