The Adventures of Tom Bombadil

Expected to be a normal size but it's smaller, which just made it to be so cute. It has plenty of beautiful black and grey illustrations inside. Also the dust cover is very unique in my opinion, with lots of details put in at the front and the back of the book. The font inside is neither too big or too small, so easy to read.

The Adventures of Tom Bombadil can also be found in other editions, such as the Tales from the Perilous Realm, but as part of a collection of shorter works by Tolkien. Here, it's a stand-alone edition with lovely illustration; also, the perfect size for travelling -- for those who still love how a hard-cover edition feels to the touch.

I had mislaid my first copy of Tom Bombadil bought 50 years ago. I found this new edition very interesting and rather liked the the square shape. It seemed cuddly being pocket sized!. The Pauline Diana Baynes drawings were as enchanting as ever.

Yet another badly bumped corner of a book. Hardback. The bottom corner was split and the dust cover tatty. Lovely book but disappointing to arrive in that state. Step up Amazon.
