All from the heart!
Panditji speaks of his master with pure reverence and we receive his words as well as the Master himself with love and respect. Cannot describe this book in any other way.

A mind opening book...
I know someone who is a student of Swami Rama and he recommended this book to me. The Himalayas are filled with mystics and here, we get a glimpse of the great masters who benevolently guide us on the path.

Timeless and Beautifull...
This is an excellent and credible book, It is written carefully and with much reference towards Swami Rama by Pandit Rajmani Tingunait, the writer who experiences over some 20 years meeting and conversing with the 'Swamiji.' It manages to convey a miraculous life and much like 'Autobiography of A Yogi', it follows the entire life and work of Swami Rama. From his mumble beginnings in India and his path towards spirituality and eventual time as a Yogi. There are many moments that will blow your mind and although it took me a week to read it, it was inspiring right to the very last word. Highly recommended.

The Rarest and Most Remarkable Account of a Human Life
This is a fascinating account of an enigmatic character of profound yogic accomplishment. It goes into much more detail than the autobiography Living with the Himalayan Masters. Swami Rama's behavior was often incomprehensible to his followers. It was unclear to me whether he was behaving in seemingly strange and sometimes unkind ways to teach lessons, or if it was just the behavior of an imperfect human being despite his remarkable spiritual powers. Some reviewers said that Tigunait did not address the sexual improprieties of Swami Rama with some of his female devotees, but he does mention them in the context of his incomprehensible behavior. Tigunait does not take a position on whether the allegations were true or not.All this is not to take away from the charmed, mystical, and mysterious life he lived and the intense austerities he underwent at the behest of his master, such as meditating in a cave for something like 8 months without coming out into the light of day, or interacting with another human being. By any measure this is the rarest account of a human life I have ever read. As such it was awe inspiring to share in his journey and it brought me to tears a number of times and filled me with wonder. There were a few slow patches to this dense 400 page tome, but for the most part it was hard to put down once I picked it up on any given day. Highly recommended to any serious student and practitioner of yoga and meditation.

Profound and touching: I can only compare it with Autobiography of a Yogi, only more intimate.
I ordered this book after reading Touched by Fire by Pandit Tigunait. I believe we unravel the secrets of each book as it is read again and again. Many of the incidents mentioned in Touched by Fire are mentioned in this too. But in this I understood the immense love Pandit Tigunait had for his teacher. When reading both books, it took me a while to be composed to read Swami Rama's last days, and his journey to meet his masters. This book is a treasure, to understand the importance of breath, pranayama, yoga, cross cultural changes of the Indians in the West and the true spirit of Hinduism. Many thanks to Pandit Rajmani Tigunait for writing this book and sharing his experiences with Swami Rama.
