Point and shoot remote works out of the box, simple and sweet, no frills
I read several reviews which stated these do not work or only work from very short distances and aren't like an OEM Roku remote. The simple fact is they are not, Roku remotes in many cases use WiFi or Bluetooth frequencies and have a pairing button under the battery door (some not all). These remotes are RF only using infrared (old school simplicity) and also unlike the OEM units use 2 AAA batteries not 2 AA batteries so they are smaller in size and weight. The short version, I plopped in a couple of AAA batteries, pointed it at my Roku 4 and the TV and Roku powered up to the main screen. FYI if you don't have your Roku unit programmed to turn on your TV via the HDMI cable, you should, makes like so much easier than having to turn on the TV then find the Roku remote. Still need the 2nd remote for the TV volume but if you don't change it too often what does it matter.Onto the devices, construction is the same as any OEM unit, they are not flimsy, they are fine, maybe a 10cent part where OEM might have used 15cent parts but honestly for the price and the fact that I can get 4 of these for the price of 1 Roku remote, worth every penny. These have 6 buttons on the top menu and no voice search button, something I never used so no issue there. These don't have volume buttons either, that's a feature of a connected remote like the OEM, if you want then then spend the 29 dollars for the OEM units from Roku and don't bother reading any more of this review because these units are not for you.The reports that these units only work at 3 or 4 feet, greatly exaggerated and disproved, again these are RF remotes you need to point them at the unit but I was 15 feet away from my TV and they worked perfectly. Each of the pre-programmed buttons worked flawlessly, I don't have a couple of the apps but the ones that I use all came right up so programming was fine. I didn't find that I needed to push extra hard, I didn't find that I had to get up close and personal, I knew going in that I wasn't going to need to pair the unit via pairing button and wasn't going to expect headphones on the remote because it's a simple remote. If you have a lower end Roku unit (non IR remote) then this will be plug & play.

Works Great ROKU 2
This remote works perfectly with my ROKU 2 box, Model 4210X2. It worked immediately after I installed a pair of batteries. It did NOT require any programming or syncing with the TV. All functions (that I use) including Play, Pause, Fast-Forward, Review, Home, the Exit Arrow, the Netflix Button and the Amazon (Prime) Button worked correctly from the start. I experienced no delays or problems. This is a perfect replacement remote for the ROKU 2 box.

Works great
Hard to believe such an inexpensive remote would work so well. We’ve bought a few of these over the years and will continue doing so in the future. We highly recommend.

Remote will not reconnect for volume or on/of control
After several months of using my Gvirtue Replacement remote, it no longer allows control of volume or on/off. I’ve changed batteries, followed the setup instructions a dozen or more times, unplugged and removed batteries to pair the unit. In setup, I get to the point where it asks if I hear the sound and yes, I hear it, then the screen with, did the sound stop and the answer is no. So it then says that the unit will not pair with this TV, and yet it has worked for several months prior to this. I believe that I have followed the instructions and yet nothing seems to work, including the suggested url page that really offers nothing different from the setup instructions I already followed. We are turning on the TV and controling the volume with the old Sharp TV remote and then move to specific programming with the Roku. My next step is to simply go back to my old firestick.

Product Works for a Fraction of Original Remote Price
I never thought my Roku remote would go out, but it did. I was happy to find this remote on Amazon and at a fraction of the cost of others. The package arrived as promised. I was a little concerned when it arrived because it arrived in a yellow mailer envelope, only wrapped in plastic. Watching UPS, FEDEX and the USPS deliver to my door on a daily basis, I feared that it would be damaged and not work. But, it did work. I would suggest that the company use better packaging in the future, just in case. Upon opening it, we put fresh batteries in, and it worked just fine. There was no programming needed. The only other con was that the original remote's signal bounced off the walls, which meant I didn't have to point the remote directly at the Roku device to operate it. This is not the case with this device. It has to be pointed directly at the device and the device's sensor cannot be obstructed. Overall, I'm happy with the product, for the price. All the other features that come with the remote, like fast channels (there are assigned buttons on the control to go directly to channels like Hulu, Netflix, etc.) We don't use those features, we never use. So this project works for us.

This was a great remote. This one lasted four days
This was a great remote. This one lasted four days. Not Gvirtue's fault, either. You see, there is a 65 pound Aussiedoodle who lives in my house who has a penchant for the Roku remote. This was the fifth one she has eaten. We were able to find most of it, but approximately 1/3 of the remote had to have been swallowed. She does not touch other remotes, including the OEM tv remote or the cable box. Only small roku remotes. If it is left out, it will be destroyed by morning.Great price and it worked fine. Only problem was I had to go to another source to have one by Friday as I am trying to finish a show on Netflix this weekend. We're really not sure about future deterrence. I am also shopping fpr a spray that could be applied to this remote to make it unattractive to her.
