Something to Work with
A little disappointed with the costume when I got it in the mail yesterday. It is tailored strangely so that there's a lot of extra material under the arms, though its nothing a little altering won't fix. My biggest disappointment was even though this item was suppose to be new and un-used but there's a large stain on the sleeve. Its large enough of a stain that its easily notices even at a distance. The material isn't the best quality and the length is perfect for wearing to work but because of the material (or possibly the horrible wrinkles) the back of the dress tends to creep up when walking or moving. The neckline of this dress is also very strange and not as pictured. The neck is a lot wider than pictured and if it wasn't for the wrinkled and rolled mess that is the black collar, it would easily fall of my shoulders. Due to the material its made out of, its not very forgiving and if you have any curves, (like myself and most women have) you may need to invest in a shaper. If I had plenty of time, I'd return it and order a replacement but I don't want to risk not having enough time to do any altering if needed. I believe if I use some steam (not an iron) to release the wrinkles, spot treat the stain on the sleeve, take in the sides under the arms and possibly remove the black collar and replace with a simple black turtle neck and get a seamless shaper, it'll be perfect (except for the cheap looking star fleet patch.) I also may need to sew some bits of wire into the bottom hem in the back of the dress if getting rid of the wrinkles and the shaper doesn't keep it from creeping up. I'm hoping a little extra weight will hold it down.Final words on this product: Do not purchase if you want a ready to wear costume. I would say its is a good base to work off of but if you're afraid of altering and aren't creative finding fixes for its many faults I would suggest you find another costume.I would have rated this two stars but I have it an extra star because I'm almost positive it will turn out amazing once I get the alterations done.

Disappointed, definitely not worth it for the extra work
Luckily, I know how to sew, I pretty much had to disassemble, re cut, and re-stitch most of the dress. The collar is pretty flimsy with a gaping neck line, the shoulders and under arms were gaping, restricting much of your movement and raising the already short dress up when you raise your arms. The arms were too tight and with the Gold ribbon around the wrist, it had to be removed since it doesn’t stretch, and it rips pretty easily. I was already reluctant to buy this brand because the quality reviews weren’t great across many of their other item but I thought surely it can’t be so bad, it was.

Taller women beware
I wear sizes 2-4, and after reading the comments on how large this runs, I ordered the ExtraSmall. It was VERY tight, but I knew if I exchanged it for a Small, it would hang like a potato sack. So I went out and bought a black Spanx-like shaper-slip with built-in bra (I'm a 34B). (A bra would have shown indentations under this tight thing. It was "loosest" in the waist, so I could get away with pantyhose... I wouldn't recumbent underwear because the lines would definitely show horribly.) I'm glad I wore the shaper, because the uniform was SO short, I don't think I'd have the guts to wear it! The black shaper was about two inches longer than the hem of the uniform, so I felt a little more comfortable with that, and it didn't look back with the uniform's black collar balancing it out. The material is polyester, so it slid and shifted over my nylon shaper all day long at the convention. I had to keep doing the "Captain Kirk tug-down" all day long! (I know the guys at the vendor tables were hoping I would lean way-forward to reach for the T-shirts on the BACK of the table!) Addressing the other comments: The black collar IS floppy, but I was okay with that. I thought the Starfleet insignia was very tiny and cheap-looking, so I hand-sewed-on a larger, gold Starfleet patch I'd ordered separately. My stats for your reference: I am 5'8", 135 pounds, bust 34", waist 28", and hips 37.5". (If you're larger-breasted, I would order the size Small and have it altered.) IN SUMMARY: It looked really awesome on me, so it was worth it and I will wear it again (with the shaper underneath). As long as you're not on any ACTIVE away-missions or need to run, the XSmall should work fine. I was asked by strangers several times to have their photo taken with me, so that was awesome!

Follow seller's sizing advice. Good quality!
Thanks to the seller for explicitly explaining the quirks with sizing. The costume sizing definitely does not follow normal clothes sizing! This made getting the correct size easy. The fabric is nice and the quality is good.

Great buy for a Trekkie who loves dressing up!
I am 5'1 and 100lbs, I am very pleased with the fit of the XS I ordered! Other reviews mentioned the sleeves being too short, but I did not have this problem. The sleeves ride up a little if I stretch my arms over my head, but otherwise are the perfect length for me, as well as not being too tight. I am small chested and there is a comfortable amount of space + the fabric has a little stretch, the same goes for the waist area, while not being too baggy. The neckline is perfect, doesn't slip off my shoulders and isn't too loose, and the skirt reaches an inch or two above my knees. Overall the XS could fit someone a little larger very nicely, but might start to look a bit like a Star Trek themed potato sack on someone any smaller. The quality is nicer than most Halloween costumes but it still noticeably feels like wearing a Halloween costume in my opinion, which is perfectly fine for my purposes of wearing it around my house.

Great dress, might be too short.
I am 5'2'' and this dress was short for me. It might work better as a tunic for taller ladies. Other than that - it was the best Star Treck female costume I was able to find.

Small was too small for my wife who is quite tiny and somewhat modest. It was literally like the old Start Trek uniforms that rode up way too high. Returned and bought the next size up.

Too big
Slightly to big on the top, and had a rip under the arm. Was a quick fix but was slightly annoyed. Great though. Just what I needed for cosplay

Satisfied, What you see is what you get, the medium size was a little bigger than a medium in Canada....which was fine.
The medium is fairly large, fitting a size 12 easily, and a Canadian dress size 14 can get into it too.It reminds us of the Classic Star Trek outfit, but doesn't have the skirt slits like on TV. It's also not way too short, like on TV, though if you're so inclined, you can hem it up some more. The Starfleet logo is a bit wimpy, so we added the Star Trek broach that was made back in 1988, and still available on Amazon and eBay.....but the logo that comes with it is likely good enough for a Halloween party.
