A wonderful device with many great features!
I purchased the IVIEW-3500 STBA III converter box for a second location in my home because I already had an excellent experience with the IVIEW 3500 line for a number of years. These things are quite amazing! I get great reception (including some rather obscure channels), they work flawlessly, give me great image and audio quality, and are very easy to use. The remote control is very intuitive and straight-forward - kind of handsome, too!IVIEW has upgraded these devices over time. The new 3500 STBA version has a new advertised feature: In the EPG (electronic program guide) function, you have the opportunity to move the descriptive portion of the program info up and down from one page to the next, by pushing 3 or 4 on your remote. Very nice! Here's some very plain additional info: When I received the 3500 STBA (as opposed to the original 3500 STB), I noticed that "STB" was printed on the box. Then there was a separate sticker "3500 STBA" that was placed on top of the printed info. A bit confusing, but you'll just have to trust the manufacturer...All in all, a fantastic product that gives me a great TV viewing experience using an old analog TV set or my HD monitor.

A lot of options
I needed a new converter for an old television set. Set up was ok but I was unable to get it to turn the tv on/off, so I had to dig the old remote control out. It found several channels and the picture quality is better than ever. I’m happy with my purchase but the remote control takes getting use to.

Excellent product and great customer service
I bought this converter to be able to record live cable and broadcast programs on a flash drive and edit the recordings on my computer. It works great for this. It is intuitive to understand and program. The recordings are .mts, which are read by my Nero software and easily converted to .mp4. I had a question about an item, and their customer service answered it promptly by email. So, both the quality of the product and the customer service are excellent.

SHOWSTOPPING FAILURE: Run far, far away!
First, let's get the idiotic three-names-for-the-same-thing out of the way. This review is for the 2021-launched IVIEW 3500STBIII. On Amazon, it is listed as either the original-issue "IVIEW 3500STB III" (note the space) or the 2021-07-firmware-updated "IVIEW 3500STBA III" (no matter, as you may upgrade easily the firmware, should you get the original-issue box).I bought this product because its parent (the "II" box) is no longer available, and the "II" box that I had died (check "NOT built to last"). Yes, it was cared for; the suffocating plastic wrap had been removed; and I understood all of the box's functions (despite the ridiculous Pigeon-English interface and manual). In short, the new "III" box is plagued by a new chipset that has DOOMED the product. Likely due to having to program the new chipset, useful features have been dropped or changed for the worse. That is bad enough. What makes the "III" nothing better than a BOAT ANCHOR is that it is an EXTREMELY AND UNACCEPTABLY BUGGY converter. I have gone through THREE (3) "III" boxes and suffered the same PRODUCT FAILURES each time. Here is the SHOWSTOPPING FAILURE:1. Auto Search.2. Wait for the long list of stations to enumerate.3. Delete the channels undesired, one by one, interspersed in the list.4. Start using the box.5. Observe the box suddenly drop/add a whole bunch of random channels, for no rhyme or reason (usually, while changing channels).6. Spend the next 20 minutes following again the steps just listed.Yes, indeed, the "III" is HORRIBLE.It seems that the product's problems are not heat issues (not only was its plastic wrap removed, but the third box was relatively cold when the above failure helpfully happened within five minutes of the first Auto Search). I suspect a SERIOUS FLAW in the hardware design or firmware code.Ultimately, the product's bells and whistles DO NOT MATTER, since the box is a DISASTER.I am truly sorry to see a company that tried to provide a lot for the money fail so badly with this new chipset. Still, I cannot possibly be the first to encounter the aforementioned SHOWSTOPPER.BTW, I just saw that I am not the only victim of this SHOWSTOPPER. Please see Patrick Everdell's review and conclusion: "Punt this puppy as hard as you can then run the other way. This unit is not worth the parts it's made with. Look somewhere else."Agreed!

Needs just a little improvement
I’m not sure how to rate this unit, I was going to give it a glowing 5-star review, but as usual these units seem to develop issues after the first week. What I will say of the 4 different units I have ordered this has been about the best. The remote works well, the buttons have that “click” type feel which I like, also there are a couple of other niceties such as the remote has a “PVR” button that takes you directly to the recordings, also the power button flashes which lets you know its working. The only thing I would change is locating the Play, and Fast Foreword/Reverse buttons further up on the remote. Also, this is the only unit that actually shows the correct station number on the front instead of the other number series that doesn’t seem to relate to the channel you are watching. In regards to problems, after about a week the picture would start flashing out momentary, about a half second or so. I don’t know what causes this but this will last anywhere from a few minutes to 20 minutes, sometimes you can turn the unit off then back on and it will solve the problem but not always, this seems to happen about every other day. Most recently it would flash out for a couple of seconds but that lasted about 10 minutes, so the problem may be getting worse, who knows? The only theory I have is it seems to be when the room is somewhat colder, but this is just a guess. The other issue is the clock one day became 7 hours off (ahead of time) on all of the stations. I played with the clock setting in the menu for a while, and eventually got all but one channel/station to show the correct time (the one I watched the most, of course). But then each day afterwards the time was anywhere from 1 hour to a half hour closer to the correct time. After about five days the time on this channel was correct. I suppose it could have been originating from the station itself but in 5 years of using these types of DVRs this is the first time I have experienced this.
