Good solid rangefinder at a reasonable price
This is my fourth rangefinder, having had two breakdown and losing a third. All i needed is one that provides accurate distances (slope function is nice but wasn't a requirement) and not a lot of bells and whistles offered by the higher end units. This one work well. It's nice and compact and fits well in my hands. It zeroes in the pin better than my two previous rangefinders and does so very quickly. The numbers in the viewfinder are easy to read. Good value . . . pleased with this purchase.

Get's the job done
OK, so, I read a bunch of reviews before my purchase and decided to give this rangefinder a try. I had a Bushnell that bounced off the cart (I wasn't driving) and into a creek at the end of last golf season. I had planned to just bite the bullet and buy another $400 Bushnell. But, saw this for less than half the price and with 4.7 stars and over 11K reviews, how bad could it be?It arrived today and works as advertised. Quick acquisition and seemingly accurate distance based on common sense and golfing for over 40 yrs. It's Jan in Michigan so, just shot some signs, light posts, etc., outside my office. I like that the vibration occurs even on objects like a car or, whatever. It doesn't require a pin to get confirmation feedback. So, the main reason for the high review before ever taking it out on a golf course is simple operation, quick acquisition, and very strong magnet relative to size and weight. I don't think this one is coming off a cart. If so, I'm probably off the cart as well. If your looking for a rangefinder that has clear optics and quite frankly just measures the distance to things easily and accurately, then this appears to be a good choice. I can't speak to durability given it just arrived but, I'm impressed with this little fella so far.If there any negatives or, at least insights I can offer, it is quite small. I have probably average size hands and this thing is small. Not so small that it's weird but, definitely an adjustment from the Bushnell. Also, the Amazon page claims it doesn't include a battery. Well, it does. So, my purchase of 4 batteries was essentially unnecessary but hey, I got the Amazon ones for like $10 or whatever. I probably would have held off on additional batteries had I know it included one. The Bushnell unit I had would last a year or more (30+ rounds) on a battery so, now I have spares to give to buddies.I'll update this review after a winter golf trip and/or next season if there are any changes in my opinion. For $170, if it lasts a couple of seasons, seems like a reasonable buy.

Good product, needs image stabilization
Looks like a quality build and more accurate than my Garmin golf watch.Pros: Accurate distance, strong magnet.Cons: difficult to hold it steady enough to get readings from distant pins.Reading outbuildings or people on the course is easy at any distance, and reading pin distance from 140 yards or so seems accurate. None of my friends or I could get it to consistently lock onto pins over 150 yards away though; it would just give a reading for trees behind the pin. I tried using the magnet and sticking it to a cart upright to get a steady enough image to lock, which worked some of the time.Have never used a rangefinder before, so maybe this is common. If so, the winner is going to be the company that uses camera tech to present a more steady image at distance.Overall I find this range finder useful enough to be worth the price.

Perfect Rangefinder
Purchased both the Callaway 300 Pro and the BlueTees Series 3 rangefinders after doing a fair amount of research - mostly reading Amazon reviews and reviewing specs. Didn't want to spend $500 on a Bushnell but was replacing a TecTecTec that was less expensive but a bit on the lower end (although it worked mostly fine).Impressions comparing the BlueTees to the Callaway:1. Out of the box, I thought the Callaway looked better and felt better in my hand. The Callaway was a bit smaller than I was expecting but I actually liked the way it felt - good quality for sure. The BlueTees looked a little clunkier and cheaper. Didn't like it nearly as much just based on look and feel but I tried to keep an open mind.2. Actual use - The BlueTees again seemed a little tougher to use - didn't pickup the targets quite as well and the view just didn't feel as clean and easy. The Callaway lense view felt very clean and nice with a decent sized target finder that made it feel easier to pickup the flag - and it really was easier. Really no doubt in my mind at this point which rangefinder I was keeping.3. Features - I specifically ordered both rangefinders to have a magnet to affix to the golf cart and slope and I have to say that the magnet feature is awesome. Didn't realize how much I would like it and I would never order a rangefinder without it at this point. The vibration on the Callaway was also good.4. Accuracy - Seemed fine on both although I felt like the Callaway was maybe more accurate - but that could have been because I was just more confident in it overall as a product - didn't do exact measurements to confirm.5. Carrying case - Again Callaway was a much better case - opens easier, looks better, feels better, etc.Overall, I'm not a totally easy one to please but I really am impressed with the Callaway and would say that it is a perfect rangefinder for 99% of golfers.... and I'm really not sure who it wouldn't be perfect for.PS - About the only thing better about the BlueTees was the packaging which was top-notch, but obviously that's of little value after the box is open.
