Quite helpful
Generally, this jig works very nicely, gripping the parts well (although relatively heavy stuff needs two or more grippers rather than just one). Other than that, the only difficulties I noticed are that - unlike the holding jig - the soldering pencil holder is not weighted, and won't stay put on its own. It either has to be clamped down or else captured under the base of the jig - or it will flop over. (Not good!) The other drawback is that the magnifying lens is just a bit too small to allow both eyes to focus through it at the same time. Makes it sort of difficult to use. Perhaps a larger magnifier would have been too heavy for the gooseneck to hold, I dunno. Other than that, the jig is really helpful for soldering jobs - and probably equally useful for other holding/positioning purposes. It's more flexible, useful, and stable than other "helping hand" devices that I've used.

Tremendous Asset!
I like realizing better results for soldering tasks with the vice.Even a power cord still attached to the device for which splices were necessary could be supported by the vice to facilitate a successful repair. The price was very reasonable for all of the features provided.

Well made and sharp
Very well made product. Directions were fine, and the performance of the "hands" were very sturdy and steady. Only problem, the bonus soldering iron holder, needed more weight to make it more stable. Otherwise I would buy the product again.

Bolts did not tighten in two legs
Two of the bolts were too small and would not thread. I had to go to a hardware store for assistance. Also I felt the instructions could have been more clear. But otherwise, okay for the price.

Just what I was looking for!
Great product. Does exactly as advertised. Some assembly required. Your mileage may vary. If you need some inexpensive octopus arms with a magnifying glass to hold small scale and low voltage stuff for soldering or glueing, this is the product you need. Sturdy base and extra parts! W00T!

Great design for my needs
I really liked this Third-hand Stand. It is very easy to assemble and sturdy - there are no loose or wobbly parts. The heavy base makes it hard to tip over. The black plastic on the clips is a plus as it helps hold my work without scratching it. I'm going to try to stick a neodymium magnet on the underside of the small parts tray to help it hold the parts and to help hold the tray in place.

Soldering iron holder
Great concept. But some of it didn't fit together very well. I didn't want to send it back, so I improvised the problem and was able to use it. It's China made, which could be why.

One of my favorite tools!
This makes it VERY easy to solder wires, hold items still while epoxy sets over night. Many uses!
