Overpriced and bad customer service

I have my work laptop and my gaming PC hooked up to my monitor (1440p@144hz). It worked fine for about 6 months. Then all of a sudden, switching back to my PC from my laptop wouldnt work. I'd have to unplug my monitor, do a ritual, and plug it back in and it would work. After about a month of that, even that stopped working. Now this is a very weird issue. Only my gaming PC to my monitor wouldnt work. Both ports on the KVM worked. If I used a different monitor, it worked. I tried everything I could think of to troubleshoot. Lowered the resolution/fps on my monitor. Wiped and reinstalled GPU drivers. Reset the KVM. Even redid Win10. None of it fixed it. When I reached out to support, they asked for my order number. Well, when I got this product, there was a mistake on Amazons end. They charged me twice and so refunded one of the charges, but in my Order History, it says the product was refunded. Because of this, CKL Support wouldnt help me, because the product was refunded. As far as they were concerned, I got refunded and didn't send the item back (which isn't possible, the refund would have been cancelled). They simply would not budge and just kept accusing me of not returning the item. Worst CS I've had to deal with. Considering this product is $170, I definitely would not buy this again. There are better KVMs for half the price.

Solid unit, great customer support

I don't really write reviews, but I'm writing this one because of the customer support I received.I ordered this switch a couple months ago. It was working for awhile, but somehow something happened to where it beeped every time I pressed to switch (which I do often). There's supposed to be a way to turn that off, but my unit seemed to have bugged out and we weren't able to get the beeps off. Despite that being the only thing wrong with it, they offered to send me a brand new unit. Got a whole new one, no beeps. How about that!

Serviceable - but not great

This worked great for the first month and then I started having issues with the video quality. It wouldn't always detect HDR and consistently had what looked like static, artifacts, and/or screen tearing when swapping between PCs. I've built PCs and setup networks and know how to troubleshoot basic hardware issues, and this isn't an overly complicated device.

Simple to use, few drawbacks.

I purchased this device to share mouse, keyboard, and monitor between two computers--a desktop and laptop computer. My desktop and monitor have both HDMI and DisplayPort (DP) capability. The laptop, on the other hand, is more limited. It only has HDMI.I chose this KVM because it supports 2160x1440p @ 144hz, the same as my desktop. This KVM only has DP inputs. No biggie, I'll just get an adapter to convert DP to HDMI and my laptop should be fine.So purchase this KVM and an adapter to convert DP to HDMI. It arrives, plug it in. Desktop works fine out of the box. Laptop only has mouse and keyboard control--no video. I also noticed that my keyboard and mouse do not work in the USB 2.0 ports on the front of the KVM. They must be plugged into the USB 3.0 ports instead. No biggie here also--more on this later.Ugh. Thinking the video issue could be related the cable and/or adapter, I purchased another cable which has the proper connections (DP to HDMI) in hopes to eliminate the adapter. When it arrives, I plug it in. However, unfortunately, the same thing occurs. I still have keyboard and mouse control on the laptop but but no video output. Therefore, I reached out to their support department. I nearly immediately received a reply. They were very helpful and suggested that I need a *powered* DP to HDMI adapter. This adapter converts DisplayPort to HDMI and would also consume another USB port to power the adapter. Through our conversation, I became edified. Direction of communication within the cable matters. Some cables can only communicate in a single direction (uni-directional) and others can communicate in both directions (bi-directional). The cables and adapter I purchased were uni-directional but in the wrong direction. This was the cause of my video issue. It was not sending video from my laptop to the KVM. Therefore the technical issue was due to my ignorance and not the KVM itself. Fixed. One final thing, the KVM has a "hotkey" feature. This allows you to double click your middle mouse button or a key combo on the keyboard to switch displays. In addition to switching displays, there is an audible beep when you switch inputs. These "hotkeys" can handle both the switching of inputs as well as disable the beeping if you choose. However, I cannot do either of these because the hotkeys are only available in the USB2.0 ports, not the USB3.0 ports per support. My keyboard and mouse are not recognized in the USB2.0 ports in the front. Therefore, I must live with the audible beep and must switch inputs manually. I suppose I can live with that. I have a Razer Deathadder optical mouse and a Ducky One mechanical keyboard, nothing very fancy. That is unfortunate, so a point off of a perfect score for this.Wish there was a software solution for either of these--a remap of hotkeys and a way to disable the beep.

DOA - tried my own high quality cables and could not get it to work

I connected a Nvidia GTX 2070 super and could never get it to stay connected. Frequently there was noise on the video output when it did connect briefly.

Garbage USB device emulation

The USB device emulation on this thing is absolute garbage.Neither my Logitech mouse nor Keyboard is supported. The keyboard doesn't even light up, and the mouse almost works. Moves around on either computer in a big delay and as if it wasn't tracking. While the cheap "UGREEN" A/B USB 3 switch (not connected at the same time) I bought here on Amazon last year works fine. Now an old really basic Dell mouse I had sitting around does work. This was the extent of their testing apparently. This company should be ashamed for such engineering. Apparently not doing much device compatibility testing at all. They must not have tested any advanced HID devices.Edit: I originally stated it was fine, but actually even the video circuit/switching is bad. Connected through the switch, the video blacks out for several seconds every 5 or 10 minutes.REFUNDED.

Works great on my 4k 144hz monitor

This is a great KVM setup for my 38" 4k monitor. It runs the gsync (compatible) 144hz signal without a hitch, with usb3 and audio working seamlessly. The (wired) remote is also a nice addition.

Can't turn off beep

KVM doesn't work with three different keyboards: corsair k55, generic mechanical, dell keyboard with smartcard reader. I cannot turn off this stupid beep because it won't recognize any keyboards control key. No other way to change it. Really annoying and even if you are ok with just the toggle button cannot disable beep.
