Flantastic Freaks
As a man who surrounds himself with anatomical oddities, Ricky Gervais knows freaks. To start, Ricky partnered with the absurdly tall genius, Stephen Merchant, to bring a man with a head like an orange, Karl Pilkington, into international recognition. Then, he brought human tape art into fashion using his hamster-faced editor, Nigel Williams, as his preferred canvas. Finally, after spending weeks on the road torturing his tiny-thumbed support act, Robin Ince, the natural next step would be to draw from that well of experience and create a series of books exploring the evolution of the impossibly strange and tragic. And as long as such books were being written, why not have the talented and bean-headed Rob Steen illustrate them? Seems a perfect fit to me.You should always write what you know, and Mr. Gervais does just that, with excellent results. The books are hilarious, unpredictable, and tragic, and at the end of it all, sprinkled with a touch of hope in explaining that life will go on, even without Flanimals who hang their fates on the imaginary will of Grob.

Flanimals is the coolest thing in the world according to the man in the mirror
What do I mean by that? When questioned will I conform to Ricky's wishes and praise his book, but deep inside have other feelings? OF COURSE NOT!!!!!!Flanimals rocks my world in ways unnatural to this dimension. I learned a lot and if I am ever cornered I will be a happy panda.I hope this helped you... it made about as much sense as the book did, lol.

From ages 7 to 31, we remained entertained
I got this for my niece who loved it. Before I gave it to her I gave it a read and it was well illustrated and a fun concept. And for the people who object to it's subtle explanation of evolution, get over yourself. This is a kids book with something educational built in. Don't deprive your kids of that.

New condition.....kind of.
Bought this book new....or so I thought. Had some kids name written in it already. It’s a great book though. Would be five stars if it wasn’t for the kids name already in the front cover.

Funny
My kids like the names and pictures and I like like the hysterical writes ups.The version I have is thicker almost plastic pages, like a field guide. Perfect for my little eons that are really hard on books.

My 9 year old absolutely loves these books. They were worth the wait to ship them to New Hampshire USA from England. Much cheaper than buying them in the states.

Bought this book as a Christmas present for my little sister and she loved it. The illustrations are great and only come in second to the descriptions.

Recieved dirty and damaged
Paid for a new book and recieved what clearly appears to be a used or shop-soiled book. Very disappointed! The book itself is delightful in content.

Must have per i fan di Ricky Gervais
Libro davvero molto simpatico per far imparare l’inglese, si creano situazioni e dialoghi surreali

Worth about $0.39 which I paid
It's mostly gibberish. He tried to create text a la The Jabberwoky with nonsense words but it falls flat. Furthermore, there is no story. It is just descriptions of made up animals that was boring to my son and excruciatingly dull to me.

Great gift, the kids loved it!
I gave this as a gift for a 10 year old. The humour is a little risque and ironic, of course, suitable for budding senses of humour. it was great to give as all in one book to pore over.
