My Henry, Judith Kerr
I recently watched a TV programme with Judith Kerr...The Tiger, Hitler and Me I think it was... What an amazing woman, so positive and generous of heart and what a life she's lived. At the age of 90+ she still has more energy than many people half her age. I had read the Tiger Who Came To Tea, hadn't realised she also wrote and illustrated the Mog books and was pleased to find My Henry. She is so fresh and modest regarding her work and her stories are delightful. She has a regard for people and a respect for children that is commendable. She is full of wonder as are her books. She wrote My Henry some time after the death of her husband. I bought My Henry for a friend of mine whose husband is very poorly for when she no longer has him as I think it will be a comfort for her.

Lovely Gift, but ...........
Our 2 year old granddaughter loves the tea set and plays with it all the time. Only problem is that the lid falls off the teapot every time she 'pours' a cup of tea! We have taught her to use her other hand to keep the lid on but she now holds the teapot in one hand, with her fingers over the lid instead of using the handle!

the boy's mum said he likes it and they are happy with the present
i bought this set as a gift for a 5yrs old boy. i expected the cup being bigger but it appeared that it was as big as baby's beaker- those that you teach your 1 or 2years old to drink from a cup. the boy's mum said he likes it and they are happy with the present.so i am happy with the purchase. on the other side- THE STORY IS GREAT so i think it is the story that will last for the next years to come rather than the cup :)

This was my own children's favourite book when they were young
This was my own children's favourite book when they were young, and I couldn't resist buying this set for a friends 20 month old child. I'm told this is the first book the toddler hasnt continually tried to snatch from her parents hands as they read it, instead sitting totally engrossed listening to the enchanting story, just as my own kids did. The little cup is a great size and again has been a big hit, the child in question asks for this cup to take her milk which is a breakthrough as she has up till that point insisted on her bottle. A fantastic gift for a young

An imaginative approach to saying goodbye to Grandad!
Typically Judith Kerr in approach, but mature in content, this book has some lovely ideas. i bought it after having seen a fascinating interview with Judith Kerr just before Christmas, and have fallen in love with it.Grandpa Henry has died; but Grandma has a unique way of coping. Every time she falls asleep, Henry visits her, and they have adventures!Reminiscent of the style of the Mog books, this wonderful picture book should attract fans, both old and new, to her way of thinking and may prove a comfort to those who have recently lost a loved one.

Nice gift
Great little gift set, I was worried the book would be tiny as has happened to me in the past. But this one is fine, granted its smaller than the standard paper cover book. This is a hard cover book, about half an A4 sheet size. Lovely little cup too, perfect for the 2yr old I intend it for.
