We love using this ice maker for cocktail ice! It produces massive amounts of ice in a short time. The ice does melt quickly. As another reviewer mentioned, this is not a freezer. It’s more like a cooler. It works for our purposes. The ice does melt faster than ice from your freezer, but you can do a couple of things to help with that. When I know we’re going to be using this little ice maker, I will start it a couple of hours before we need the ice, and dump the first few batches back into the water tank. They’re always thin and melt almost immediately, but helps lower the temperature of the water, resulting in a harder freeze on the ice. I also cover the top with a folded tea towel, to insulate it. This keeps the temperature inside the unit much cooler, also helping with the consistency of the ice, and it keeps it from melting as quickly. The ice maker makes a tolerable amount of noise. It’s quiet, but you know it’s there. Overall I think it’s good quality for a fair price!

Remember always going to buy ice from sonic? That can add up over the months. This is the best thing I have ever purchased. Such a great price! The ice is phenomenal! You will have ice made in minutes, so durable and constant ice. The size is also perfect, there are a lot of ice makers that are very large but this one is the perfect size and will never be in the way!

So this makes ice quickly but when it's done (or out of water) the bucket holding the ice just slowly lets the ice melt again and so this unit will continuously runs recycling the same water throughout the day.Not sure if i expected too much but it seems silly that the ice maker puts so much effort into making the ice and zero into keeping it - but it does make ice fairly quickly.This pulls 1.8A on 120v so lets say 216W running (AFAIR) so that's a lot of power all day running continuously so i suggest unplugging when you don't need it!I've been told that the ice melts quickly in use as well but given it's size of the ice cubes, that's understandable.(Your not getting big blocks but morelike small bullets out of this)So far, works well - recommended for home use.

The quality is good, it fast to make the ice and it doesn’t take a lot of countertop space

We’ve had this ice maker for a week now. This is our first purchase of a countertop ice maker. It is smaller than I imagined, but that is a positive because we have so little counterspace. The performance is sufficient. It puts out ice very quickly, and I transfer it to a bucket in the freezer. It performs pretty quietly all you’ll hear, really, is the ice dumping and that’s not a big deal for us. It is so easy to use, just fill it up to the waterline, turn it on let it do its thing. It stops when the bucket is full or when it runs out of water. There is no beeping noise. It’s just a flashing light if full or out of water. The ice tastes perfectly fine to us. The ice comes out shaped like bullets :) I would recommend and I would buy again.

It is a great ice maker it is a little slow to get started but makes nice cubes for the drinks… only thing it lacks is a choice of cube sizes… otherwise it is a great little ice maker… easy to clean and maintain and not so heavy that you can move it around with ease….

I wanted a small ice maker in my office to help me keep cool while sweaty gaming. This is perfect for that task and saves me many messy trips to the freezer. It's true that the ice tray is a bit fiddly and the operation is a little noisy, but I can't ask more of a $50 mini ice maker. Great value at this price point.

I bought this as I don't have an ice maker in my RV freezer. It works great! I can fill it and run it until empty, it takes about 2 hours to complete a full tank. That makes about a small shoe box size container of ice. Small pieces are great, but they do come out watery instead of really frozen so I have a water layer in bottom of ice box. The drain feature sucks. So I tip it and empty it and let it stand for 4 hours before using again, like start up instructions show. The fitting/plug on the bottom of the tank to drain isn't very well made and comes apart easily. It's just easier to tip/drain/let stand 4 hours, than fussing with the plug.
