VERY good sub bass, tons of fun and not just for bass junkies
Well, after thinking these were nothing special, i gave them a couple days to let myself get used to the sound. I have/had up to 80 sets (mostly earphones, then headphones) ranging from the budget (£20) up to £300. I bought these on a whim after there claim to have excellent bass. At first i thought it was a little too bass heavy but it does grow on you pretty quickly.Bass - Very low and mostly behaves quite well. It has decent resolution, but sometimes can be a bit boomy and overpowering. Still, it's fun and musical and works across most genres like pop, rock, hip-hop and obviously EDM/Dance as they have marketed them.MIDS - They are relatively detailed, but the dominant low end can intrude a bit and effect overall detail. They are slightly recessed, and follow the V-Shaped sound of the Boom (V-Shape means more prominent bass and highs/treble with mids slightly back in the mix). It's mainly micro-detail though that they struggle with, but they are still enjoyable and musical. Upper mids are a bit clearer than lower, and this does help with detail.Highs/treble - Fairly detailed and crisp, a little artificial at times and the way they've been tuned for more modern music can make older music a little peaky. Still, they pick out instruments well and have good clarity and they inject a bit of space and air to the mix.Soundstage - Fairly decent, not that deep. They aren't out of your head but not to narrow either. Separation of instruments is okay, helped with the upper mids and highs being pretty clear and slightly thin... which compliments the fuller bottom end quite well.Genres - Well, as advertised they work well with music like EDM. I would have liked the sub bass to be a bit more quicker and slightly thinner and not bleed in to lower mids as much. I have other sets that go for a similar sound as the Boom, but they are quicker and moer nimble and still very low (e.g. AudioSense AS 20). I'm not sure if the more expensive Mix (£60) goes a bit further and takes a bit of the colour and smoothness away from the lower mids and tightens up the overall sound.Much better than Soundmagic E10 and E50. FAR BETTER than Sennheiser CX 300ii (although most iems can beat these vastly overrated muddy sounding earphones). I prefer them over my Brainwavz M1 and RHA M750. IMO It's even better than the highly thought of Dunu Titan 1 (also known as Fiio EX 1).As it does as advertise i.e. beats Beats and is great for EDM and at £30, i must give it 5 stars. It is quite a commercial, young sound... but audiophiles may enjoy them too as they are lots of fun and do their best to be more than bass monsters. I'm enjoying hearing the bass lines get centre stage in a lot of my old music, without losing the details of the rest of the mix.Quick notes of build and accessories...Quite a modern look, and nice to look at. Plastic but feel sturdy enough. The flat cable might take a bit of time to get used to, but I'm not hearing any microphonics (noise from body movement when out and about touching them). The provided tips could be better. Two sizes isn't good enough. I'm lucky that i have over a hundred types of tips to choose from from other IEMs and i could trial and error til i found one that works. A smaller size with a narrower circumference at the tip works best for me, and a more rubbery material helps with depth and isolation, allowing for bass tones to be tighter and detail to be higher. You MUST get a good seal with them. They don't provide foam tips, but the ones i have that match size wise did take a bit of the smoothness and richness away from the sound.Easy to recommend.I'd really like to see how much the Pump Audio Mix Wired improves on the Boom.Edit 1 : Grammar and spellingEDIT 2 : I have to add that i am getting noise from the cable, so i take back what i said about microphonics not being an issue. BUT... it's farily easy to fix by clipping to your top, jacket, etc.

Avoid. Bad design causing pop'ing sound.
Avoid. I got the Pump Audio Boom, In Ear Earphones. There are no "pressure release holes" on the peices. The internals would pop as the pressure changes. For example putting them in, moving my jaw, speaking, walking... It sounds like kind of like a plastic bowl turning inside out. This may be a fault on my pair (which is why I'm getting a refund), but it's a huge design flaw. The orange isn't as bright in real-life, in a good way.The sound is ok for the price. The base isn't over the top as others suggest. It does handle the "base boost" on spotify very well.

Good earphones but memory form not so great
The earphones are good earphones. The sound quality is great. However, the memory foam earbuds are terrible, within a few days of me having them they have fallen apart. It is a shame because if it weren't for that, the earphones would have got five stars.

Best earphones I've owned.
A couple of years ago I won a pair of Pump Audio V2 and fell in love with the sound. When they broke, through my own fault, I decided to get the B&O Play H3 earphones as there was a very cheap deal on. Big mistake, despite the usual price being £130 they were nowhere near as good as the Pump's.So I found myself buying the PUMP Mix wired earphones, they're so much better than the B&O pair, and also an upgrade over the old V2. I can hear things in songs that I had never heard before. These sound great to me with any type of music, from pop to rock to classical. I've had a lot of mid range priced earphones over the years and I've always gone with widely recommended models from the likes of Sound Magic and Sennheiser, but these are by far the best. There is no problem with the cable getting tangled, and I think the cable is the perfect length. The carry case that comes with these is nice and sturdy and comes with a net pouch inside which is handy to carry an extra pair of earbuds. Even the packaging looks great, it's the kind of quality I would expect from a significantly more expensive pair.If I had to say one thing I didn't like about them then it's the fact that there is no small pair of silicone ear buds included, only small memory foam ones, and they don't last very long. It's a personal gripe, and not a big enough one to knock a star off the review as I've just stuck on earbuds from another pair.

I've had these for a few weeks now, I think they are great value for money but I was hoping for a bit more bass (I'm using foam tips but I will try another brand). That being said, it does pick up very low frequencies and do a decent job.I'd be happy to buy the more expensive set in the near future, the cable quality is great and when using for hands-free phone usage it's very clear.I'll give them 4 for now but once I try some other foam tips (the official ones this time), I'll come back to the review.Listening to a wide range of music (death metal, dnb, dub, classic rock etc).

Sound is decent, build quality is not.
Purchased Feb 2018. Broke Apr 2018.Contacted Pump Audio direct and no response received.I have owned both cheaper and more expensive in ear buds, and have never had a cable come away from the jack.Sound quality was pleasant enough for the 2 months that they worked.Poor build quality in my opinion, with a non existent customer service or returns policy.Personally I will be avoiding this company in the future.

What's not to like?
These are great for a mid-price set of Ear Phones. I started off with a pair of Boom just to get a feel for "Pump"s and after a few months upgraded to "Mix". Both are great and I continue to use both (Boom for the gym and Mix for work / walking about). The sound quality is great but don't let the heavy bass turn you off, I find it livens up the music and I'm more of a rocky guy than a Dance guy. If you're sick of buying cheap earphones that sound tinny and break after about 3 weeks, I'd give these a go, if you don't like them you can even return them but give it a try, support local UK business and don't go buy those crappy expensive Beats headphones :)
