Ray Mears Vanishing World Hardcover – October 2, 2008

This book is a wonderful book on the different cultures thru-out the world that live a simple (Bushcraft style) existence. The book is not a Bushcraft tutorial. Instead, it is filled with pictures gathered while Ray was spending time/learning from these different cultures. There is narratives for each picture.It's a great book if you like pictures of different cultures & how they live, etc.If you're looking for a book that has Bushcraft tutorials or instruction.....look to other books from Ray Mears or Mors Kochanski!

Good book.

I have some of his other books. So I was very disappointed to see that most of the pictures in this book were taken from them.The picture quality is poor. Taken many years ago with a film camera. Printed in matt, not gloss. So very dull.Each picture has a short paragraph describing what Ray 'feels' about the subject.If you don't have any of his other books, then it's a 2 star book. But for his admirers, a bit of a rip-off repeating already published photos.

I have learnt so much this is a great book I would recommend to anyone that’s interested in the great outdoors.
