I used it for my 7 and 5 years old kids to look at already made slides with butterfly wings, nectar, fish scales, pollen, etc. We didn't try for bigger tasks yet. For this age group , pretty good , especially given the price , I got it for like 10 $ at the time. Worth the money.

We bought this to incorporate into our homeschool Science classes for our young children. It was a great price and is lightweight, so it isn't difficult for our children to handle when looking at slides. We bought slides to go with this from another company and used it the first day it came in. Everyone was excited to try it and loved being able to see the difference between samples, but it was a bit confusing which brightness to use and where to adjust the light to get the best focus and clearest picture. It took a bit of finagling to get the slides in focus. It would be helpful if it came with a booklet that detailed the different uses of the focus and which slide samples would work well for each strength. Overall this was a great deal and we are very pleased with this product. We would by it again. :)

Garbage! Doesn't work, too blurry to even view the premade slide it comes with.

I purchased this microscope for my 4 children 8 and under. It works very well, magnifies large enough for my children to understand the concept. It is definitely not a toy, but a real microscope. It is small for an adult to use, but perfect for children. Considering the price, this is an excellent choice.

You get what you pay for. Very basic. Plastic everything. This would be okay for introducing a smaller child to microscopes. Picture was tolerable but not good quality.

Nicely made and sturdy. A great first time microscope for little guys to explore things.
