Remarkable Red Perfect for Kid's Hands, but Worth It?
We are a family of builders and assemblers and purchase products ranging from Picasso Magnetic Tiles, Legos, Wooden blocks, and everything in between. So these Picasso Chips fit right into our MO.To the Point or TL;DRAll one color in bag: Red, Wonderful connections allows for tall & long structures, Great finish, Superb color throughout, Darn fun, Package of 108 pieces, made from Polyethelene (PE), BPA-Free & Non-Toxic, package shows all colors & isn't clear it is all one color. Be aware that 1-1/4 inch isn't that big, at least to adults, but is perfect for kids, comparatively Expensive. The Good StuffThese are just the right size for little one's hands. Not to small, not to big. Would make that girl that robbed those bears proud (couldn't help myself). They have excellent connections allowing for large, sturdy structures, but not so tough to separate that it is a problem. Great color and the production standards are off the chart amazing. Really like these. The Bad StuffThe product is outstanding and we find no flaws with the individual pieces or what you can do with them; however, , these packages are slightly deceptive. They show all the colors on the front and my little ones thought they were opening a mixed bag. Also, compared to the PTF55 -550pc & PTF60 = 600pc packages they sell, these are Expensive. Almost 3.5 times more expensive per piece. Do you really need just one color? (well sometimes, yes).Who May Use/Like ItKids of all ages. In my family, 7 years old and up. Yes, I play with them.Me Final ThoughtsGreat addition to anyone's pile of building supplies, but would invest in the PTF55 or PTF60 unless I really needed a specific color. And I mean Really Needed that color. All the best, Just BenjaminReviewed: PicassoTiles Building Chip Interlocking Disc Construction Blocks in Red Color PTF108 $9.99

PicassoTiles Building Chips
PicassoTiles Building Chip listed at $9.99 for a bag of 108, same-colored chips.PROS: Quality in-line with other PicassoTile-brand items like the magnetic tiles we've purchased. They are thick plastic, and don't seem like they're going to break. Open-ended toy that allows the child to be creative instead of the toy doing all the work for them. This allows for more opportunities of play, extending their possibilities for use. Could see these also being used for counting activities, learning colors if you got multiple packs, etc. Easy to store. They're small and lightweight so I suppose you could take them along with you somewhere, but they are little, and could be easy to use if not using on a table surface.NEUTRAL: Have to purchase in one color at a time, don't appear to yet have a multi-color pack option. This may not be an issue for some who like a certain esthetic in their home/toys so that's why I listed this as a neutral comment. Size of chip is slightly bigger than a quarter. Younger than I'd say about 3-4 years old would probably need to be supervised when using these.CONS: I docked 1 star on my rating for the container it comes in, and the price. In this kit you get 108 pieces for $9.99. That comes to $0.09/piece. The brain flakes (also available on Amazon) that have over 13,000 reviews and a 4.8 star overall rating are $16.99 for 500 pieces and come with a storage container instead of a zip top bag like these PicassoTiles version. That comes to $0.03/piece.Overall, the quality is there but for the price and expansion options (like adding wheels and axles) the brain flakes are superior in my opinion.

The 5 year old begged for more of these!
We have a set of multicolored interlocking building chips and our 5 year old grandchild begged, yes begged, for more colors. I am not sure exactly what he has in mind but he specifically asked for red. This comes in a bag that looks like a multi colored pack, but inside it is 108 pieces of red disks. These disks are a bit hard to snap together and take apart but that is no deterrent for this kiddo. We were talking about dinosaurs so I think there is going to be a Play Dough volcano involved and these red disks are going to be the lava? He is very, very creative with all the toys we have so everything has multiple uses and it is always a surprise to us what the next creation will be. I LOVE supplying different building toys just for this reason. There is an included idea booklet with color illustrations for ideas of what to make. This comes in a ziplock bag, but because we keep adding to our collection I just put them in a container with a snap lid so they dont all spill out. I would purchase these again and am actually waiting for my 3rd bag of these to be delivered.

Fun until your finger hurts
I felt that this was a very creative building set! It came with an idea book which was very helpful in building different things. However, due to the tight interlocks, putting together or taking apart consistently ended up hurting my fingers. My 4 year old wanted to build something but he was having a hard time locking the chips together. It's fun but it can get painful if you're building something big. The only other thing I wish was a multi-color set option vice buying multiple single color sets.

Probably more like 6+
I have 2 kids, age 14 & 10 and a nephew I watch semi-regularly, age 3. My 14 year old had fun with these for about 10 minutes and then wandered off to do something else - no surprise. The 3 year old couldn't quite get them to snap on his own, so his creations kept falling apart on him. He grew frustrated and then gave up. My 10 year old loves them. He played with them for over an hour, and then asked for him again the next day. He built all sorts of things with them, and even asked for more colors. I would guess the appropriate age range is more like 6 - 12 years.I love how small and lightweight they are. They're super easy to stick in a go bag when I know we're going to have a long wait somewhere. The bag is resealable, so the packaging is it's own storage, too.
