Q: Are they slippery when wet. Worried the kids will spil on then and slide down the stair case.

We do not recommend them for outdoor use as they can get slippery when wet. The texture on top reduces slipping during washing but like most surfaces the risk of slip is greater when wet and we recommend you not walk on the stairs until dry.

Q: Can you put these over carpet steps?

Unless the stair treads are firmly secured, we would advise against utilizing them on carpeted steps, as they could become slippery.

Q: Can I use silicone rather than double-sided tape to stick these to wooden stairs?

Great question! Unfortunately we have not tested it with a silicone adhesive and can not provide input on it efficaciousness. We recommend the two sided carpet tape based on our own testing and because the protectors can be removed after they are worn and replaced easily with new ones. The two sided tape will also clean up from the tread with some scraping and sanding if desired. We did find this online line to other adhesives suitable for vinyl. Q: What sizes do you have

Thank you for asking! Our vinyl stair treads are 24 inches x 9 inches. We only carry one sizr and they are only for square front treads (not bullnose).
