Great for commuting.
Great little mirror for commuting. My work commute consists of a ride through neighborhoods and the city, as well as getting on an express bus and then riding the rest of the way to the office. Great mirror to see upcoming vehicles as well as fellow cyclists without having to always crane my neck over my shoulder to see behind me. Small enough so you’re not advertising your cycling nerdiness, but works well enough for making your ride a little safer. Attaches easy and is pretty solid when installed with the mirror being pretty stiff so that it takes a bit of force to move or adjust it - basically, it stays put. Keep in mind that on straight bars like mine, you are extending your width by adding this to the end of your bar and is subject to being clipped or damaged by another bike when you have yours on a side-by-side bicycle carrier like on the front of a bus or splitting traffic downtown. Other cyclists loading or unloading their bikes and knocking your side mirror out of whack or even popping the mirror portion off can happen so be aware of this. Takes a few minutes of riding to get used to looking at the end of your bar to see behind you, but it works. Cateye makes a good product and this is one I can recommend.

Good Compromise Between Size and Utility
As a long time cyclist I've come to realize that a mirror is essential for safety and situational awareness. Helmet and glasses mounted mirrors work well but impinge on peripheral vision and I find them distracting. Mounting a mirror on the handlebar end keeps it out of sight until you need it. This fits well on drop bars, is small enough to stay mostly out of the way and still provides a decent field of view. There is a prettier mirror of this type available from the French company, Berthoud, but it's 5X the price. With 3 bikes to equip, I'm very happy with this one.Pros: inexpensive, discrete, doesn't block hand positions, solidly built (mine has lasted years and still looks and performs like new.Cons: Not as panoramic as a mirror mounted to glasses or helmet (you can turn your head and see more with those). Easily knocked out of position if you lay your bike down, etc. You can't lean your bike against a wall on that side, mirror gets in the way.

Small but worked
The mirror is a bit small, would have preferred a bit larger, but it is slightly convex and gives a decent rearward field of view. Installation was very easy and the mirror seems of good quality.

Awesome! High quality and works as advertised.
I paid $12.95 Prime and it's worth every penny. I tried the mirrors that attached to my helmet and I never had a good experience with them. The helmet mirrors work great - when it's in the right position. The problem is they seem to move easily from bumps and head movement, so I had to adjust all the time. These Cateye bar end mirrors, however, are awesome! They are easy to adjust (even while you're riding) and they stay in place (unless you hit them with your knee or hand). Large enough so that you get a clear view of what's behind you and small enough so that it doesn't get in the way while you're riding. Easy to install and easy to remove. I no longer have to turn my head - so no more sore neck and no more taking my eyes off the road in front of me for too long.Just ordered one for one of my riding partners.

Excellent replacement for helmet mirror
I have always ridden with a helmet mirror and because of injuries long in the past I don't have very good flexibility in my neck. What I never liked about the helmet mirror was it never seemed to be in the right place and I had to move my head around a lot to just see behind me. And...it was always getting bumped and out of whack. Enter the bar end mirror. This mirror is excellent! I have it on both my road bikes and it is rock solid. Now, I just look down a bit...just past my stem...and there is the road behind me. Once set, it stays in place without fail. The only time it moved was when I was changing a flat and my bike fell over. The mirror popped off with not even a scratch. When I got back on my bike, I just put it back on, adjusted it, and off I went. Five stars!

Good But….
The mirror was good while it lasted. It’s small which is nice and the convex mirror can give you a clear sense if your lane is clear. However, the mirror can pop off the piece that mounts to your handlebars fairly easily. After my last ride, I mounted my bike on my bike rack and drove home. When I got home the mirror was gone.

Excellent addition to Varia radar. Slightly convex.
As a mature rider who values my health, safety is important while riding. I also love the beautiful look of my high-end carbon frame road bike. I have Garmin's Varia radar which is itself an awesome product. It tells you how many cars are approaching, how fast, etc. (FYI, I have the RVR315 and you'll find many glowing reviews of this online.) Because of arthritis in my neck turning my head sharply to look back is not an easy (or sometimes even possible) option. The Cateye mirror just adds the missing piece to this puzzle. It's small enough to be subtle and not mess up the clean lines of my sleek looking bike. Yet it's just large enough to get a pretty good view of the cars that are close so you know which lane they are in and how big they are. (The radar doesn't differentiate motorcycles from 18-wheelers.) The radar does let me know there's something there, how many (it stops counting at 8), and how fast. It basically tells me to look in the mirror if more info is required. Some reviews say the mirror is convex and others say flat. (Maybe they make them both ways? It would be nice to choose if they do!) Mine is a little convex so I get a good view of several lanes of traffic. It's not very good for long distances but the Varia radar has me covered there surprisingly well. The important thing to me is the mirror is clear and not distorted. I generally prefer flat mirrors but this slight convex shape is working for me. It's easy to mount on any normal handlebar and stays put. I just rode 26 miles which included plenty of bumps in the road and, once set initially, never had to readjust the mirror even a single time. I've not experienced any vibration issues either. If I did not have the radar this mirror would be just adequate for seeing things further back. With the two products working together I feel pretty confident I know what's going on behind me on the bicycle.

Specchietto
Comodo e compatto.

100% recommend this to anyone braving the UK roads
Update:4 months later, it's still the best thing i've ever added to my bike. All of the points in my original review still stand. It's absolutely perfect! It's second nature now to have a quick glance down every so often. So much so, that if I ride a bike that doesn't have one of these, I find myself still glancing down to check behind me. And feeling dissapointed each time I notice it's not there. You really start to appreciate it even more when you ride without for a ride or two. It's also proven really useful when riding with others. I like to cycle a bit faster than most, so It's been helpful in not ditching my friends when out on rides together.I did end up purchasing a second one, but I found myself only really using the one side. So I gave one to my partner. Who, after using it once, also shared my opinion of how great it is. Just feels so natural to use.Still can't recommend it enough.Original review:Only done one ride with it so far, but I honestly don't know how I've ridden for decades without.Makes road cycling so much easier. After a single ride I'm much more confident changing lanes. And the improvement to the overall awareness of your surroundings is insane. Was very easy to fit one on my flared drops, took a matter of seconds. A quick glance down is all I need to look behind me now. And when paired with shoulder glances, I feel like I'm fully aware of everything around me.It's only small, but the image is very clear, and is more than enough to judge adequate distances from cars behind. It's excellent in the night time too. Super easy to spot car headlights coming up behind you from some distance away. It's very secure and doesn't wobble out of place going over bumps. Unobtrusive too.I really can't stress how much of an improvement this tiny little mirror has been so far. I'll be adding a second to my left side. Can't recommend it enough!
