30lb, 3 year old on NYC Citibike (mostly)
Somethings to help you see if this review is helpful for you:The Kid - about to turn 3 years old, 30lbs, About 3 ft tallThe Dad - 6 ft, slightly out of shape, DIYerThe Bike - Citibike and Dahon Folding BikeThis is an awesome product. We were a bit hesitant since most of the reviews weren't very specific about their situation but we figured Amazon would take it back if it didn't work out.I usually wait a few months before posting a review in case it breaks or just isn't helpful but we got this on a few weeks ago and have used it every weekend since. We primarily use it on a bike share in New York City called Citibike and it fits great on the the normal bikes. It does not fit the electric citibikes as the battery is too thick to attach the swing arm for the seat.Other than that, it takes less than 5 minutes to set up and about the same to take off. the swing arm that attaches to the triangle bar needs to be in full contact otherwise the weight will be on the connection to the seat post where I can see how it could snap. But when set up correctly, it even hold my 185lb body. Be sure that the gears are aligned before tightening or it could snap. One tip is try to get the child seat mounted as high up on the seat post as the swing arm will allow without it not resting and supporting the seat. This will allow you a more comfortable riding position as the angle in which you bow your legs is less. It will also allow you to possibly grab your kid with one arm and/or legs of they fall. Our daughter is pretty well behaved and we've taught her to hold on to the seat handle bars before getting her on the bike seat so she been pretty great riding with me. She is a climber though so she's always had a good sense of grip. As with any front child bike seat, you will be pedaling bow legged which can be tough but we've taken 3-5 mile trips so far and while it is slow and slightly uncomfortable we've really enjoyed our bikes rides so far. My daughter LOVES riding with us and it’s given us the freedom of exploring the city by bike using a shared bike.Everywhere we've gone, we've had people ask us where we got it including drivers at red lights.

Great child seat for folding bike or city-bike
This portable child seat for bikes is great. I use it to carry my 3 year old in front of me on our folding bike. My 5 year old also fits, but she is almost too big and can ride her own bike, so she isn't the target user... This is adjustable for various crossbar heights and takes about 1-2 minutes to install or take off. As other reviewers have mentioned, the main clamp has a humorously long bolt. I'm not entirely sure why and I do wish that the main clamp has a shorter bolt along with a higher swivle angle. It would allow me to tighten the clamp in 15 seconds instead of 45,. But it is only a mild inconvenience...I recommend this product and after several months am very comfortable transporting my children on it. Please be smart and ensure your kids are wearing appropriate clothing and footwear, in addition to a helmet. Also do a common sense check of your bike geometry when you install it. Due to my bike construction, there is no way my son can touch the front tire while seated. Reading some reviews if appears that some bikes will place the child's feet dangerously close to the front wheel and has caused injuries. I cannot comment on these, but can say that on at least my bike, this type of injury appears to be nearly impossible.

Convenient Seat for families
Really love this product. We took a chance and bought this before a trip to New Orleans. We ended up riding bikes almost every day and my daughter loved it. The handle is especially useful for children to feel comfortable while riding and they aren't grabbing the handlebars. It was easy on and easy off each time. Well worth the cost.My only reason for not giving it a 5 star for comfort is that the seat system is a little small in length and when we did try it with my wife's bike (Small frame), my daughter's back was hitting the front of my wife's seat. If they can some how engineer the seat to be adjusted and slide on the frame a bit, it would be perfect. Overall, this is not the biggest of issues for us as she normally rides with me (larger frame) and I would definitely recommend this product.

Fits Citibike
I bought the seat to use with Citibikes, and it fits, not perfectly, but it fits. The seat rod is just about bigger than the opening but you can make it fit.My only worry is that the weight of child feels like it is all supported by the screw joining the rod support.I have only used it twice and ut might be needing more tinkering from my side, but so far so good.I think it will help me in some situations, so far I used the bikes as a glorifies stroller with my kid in the basket and me walking the bike in the sidewalk. If you use the bike in the city, never without a helmet.

Fun but Dangerous
i bought this seat because my daughter is above the weight limit on the traditional bike seat. I was a bit hesitate because there are no straps or anything to hold her on.. it only has pegs for her feet. As we used it i thought what could happen she is between my legs, well it happened.. her foot slid of the peg, her butt slid off the seat and before i could stop her foot got sucked in the wheel. Maybe a freak accident that will never happen again but all the parents need to know its possible. We got away with a sprained ankle and lots of tire rash.. I truly believe her Crocs saved her foot because of the tough rubber.. it took the brunt of damage. We had fun while it lasted but honestly for 100 bucks they should have a strap or enclosed peddles for safety.

Solves the problem of my kid staring at my back!
We were searching for a seat for our 3 year old that didn’t involve him staring at my back! All the seats that I’ve seen in the past or the ones that go on the very back of the bike which I don’t like because you can’t see what’s going on behind you and it doesn’t seem like a pleasant ride for a toddler. This solves all of those issues. It fits strongly on the front of the bike where even my husband is comfortable using it! Now I can see his face when we ride and he gets a front seat to the scenery!

Not safe at all and not worth 50bucks
This is NOT worth 50. Bucks let alone almost 200. It wobbles and there is nothing underneath to attach to the bike it is very unsafe. Yes I followed directions. It is mostly plastic as well and VERY SMALL. the handle part is only 3 inches apart which feels tippy for my son. The long screw that screws the end under ur seat sticks into the butt of the child riding on ur bike. See my pic. I hate products with fake reviews. Amazon this has to stop!

Cheaper than the MacRider
Surprisingly good, the seat post attach angle is not optimal. I guess it depends on the bike configuration. Bought this as a cheaper alternative to the MacRider, for a 1/3 of the price it is a good buy.The seat post attach would need a redesign though

"V" frame version fits hybrid bicycle.
The seats works perfectly for my three year-old toddler (~30 lbs). Front-facing seat allows us to chat and see the same things as we ride - very interactive. I have had no issues riding with my toddler - they sit comfortably and are stable sitting in front of me. I highly recommend the seat!
