I needed an external CD/DVD drive to digitise my music collection and this piece of device does the job perfectly. It connected to my M1 Macbook Pro in an instant and was ready to be used. It also has an USB Type C connector by default so no need for additional dongles. Furthermore it comes with a nice pouch where you can keep when not used and it looks sleek and stylish. Very happy with it.

Like , worked right away , no setting up required , nice quality product .dislike , did not show up on computer until disc loaded once you know that, its oka little flimsy when drawer open . But I liked design , case was nice , cable with adaptor was nice touchA very nice product . well done.

Arrived fast and well packaged. Is a bit fiddly to navigate when wanting to play a dvd on my laptop but got there in the end . Works great as a cd player . Not tried to do anything else so far such as creating a cd or dvd so cannot comment on those aspects. Hope it lasts ok, too soon also for me to comment on the durability , but a good price point .

I have been missing my cd collection when out walking, and laptops no longer have the disc drive to transfer the music.This external drive is working great for me. Rip time is decent, and the CDs are recognised straight away by my media player.I like that the cable fits under the disc drive, and the length is good. The carry case is great as well. The drive is secured with an elastic band, and there is a mesh pocket for USB converters as well.It is a very reasonably priced external disc drive, and I don't mind the picture on it.

Had this a while. No complaints at all. Works well with mac.

Easy to use and looks great

I bought this drive in order to burn CDs into my computer with. It turned out to have a fault on it, which means that it is unreliable and occasionally makes the odd glitchy file on every other CD or so that I burn. Because I only use it periodically, it took a while for it to become clear that this was a persistent fault and I couldn't return it to Amazon for a refund. However, it should have been covered under warranty for repair or replacement, which is where the problems really began.Nolyth were quick to respond but insisted that i should provide "a video" of what the problem was, otherwise their engineers would not be able to understand it and it could not be addressed. I explained to them more than once that, because the problem was intermittent, unpredictable, and an output problem rather than one where the machine clearly did not work at all, there was no way of demonstrating it on camera. As I was unable to film it, I instead suggested that it be returned for inspection. Nolyth continued to insist on a video, made no attempt to address the obvious issues with this line of approach and refused to do anything otherwise. One can only assume this is either the result of a strict and nonsensical policy regarding warranty claims, or an attempt to wriggle free of their duties to customers. Either way, I have a faulty unit and they will not replace it.In despair of getting anything out of them, I have bought another drive from a company who appears to be more reliable (a fairly sizeable brand in the field who are well reviewed). I had assumed from the reviews on Amazon that the unit would be reliable and, given that they are also reviewed elsewhere, that the brand was at least big enough to be reputable in their dealings. This was wrong. Nolyth are happy to take yr money and will not provide even basic aftercare in return. Tbh i wouldn't want a replacement from them now as i would not trust it to work. I also couldn't face having to deal with their obtuseness and their refusal to engage with the most basic issues as they are presented to them. I recommend that others look elsewhere, I'm sure that there are other drives in the £25-£30 bracket from companies who won't rip you off as standard.

I have tried it on my Windows laptop and it reads cd-rom discs fine, looks sturdy and uses one usb port to both power it and read the contents which is great. I am happy with the product (I needed to buy it as I had decided to get rid of my very last desktop with an inbuilt cd-rom drive earlier this week, now all our desktops and laptops can use this drive in case something quarter of a century old needs to be accessed from a cd/dvd etc)
