NOT AS PICTURED - NOT A GOOD PILLER!
I have been using one of these "pillers" for years for my cat. The first one was given to me by a local vet; it had a light green tip and was truly a godsend for giving an animal pills. When that first one wore out after *many years* of good use, I got a new one from another vet, but the new one had a dark blue tip and DID NOT WORK AT ALL like the original! The plunger was very rigid and did not operate smoothly; hence, the pill would get stuck in the tip and not eject into the animal's mouth. So I returned it and finally found a replacement for the original one with a light green tip. When I went on Amazon to replace it recently, I saw the Mikki Pill Gun, and it had the same light green tip in the photos of the item, so I ordered two of them (@ $9.99 each). When the pillers arrived, they were not the one I thought I was buying; these also have a dark blue tip and have the same problem as the one I returned previously. They are not well made, do not operate smoothly, and don't deliver the pill into the cat's mouth as advertised. The flat tip on the end of the plunger of one of the pillers WAS BROKEN OFF (see my uploaded photo). When I went back on Amazon to return this, it says, "Item not eligible for return." A TOTAL RIP-OFF AND FALSE ADVERTISING! BUYER BEWARE! (NOTE: This was my 2nd order of these; I first ordered the Jorgensen Pet Piller, but it was the same poor substitute with a dark blue tip that didn't work. I gave it a try, but no go!)

Great for Cats
I bought this Pill Gun to give to a young friend who adopted a rescue. Caring for my rescues, I have used a similar one for years. It is very easy to use and makes giving medication a one person job and can be done without wrapping the cat in a towel, which traumatizes a fur baby who is already feeling bad. I hope your cats stay well and will need meds rarely, if at all. But I strongly recommend having one of these on hand just in case.

Didn't work for my cat but probably would for dogs
I bought this because I had to pill one of my cats twice a day for a month. Without the pill gun I was usually able to open his mouth with one hand while throwing the pill(s) down to the back of his throat and then clamping his mouth shut, though on a couple occasions I would miss and have to do it again. I thought the pill gun would help aim better; unfortunately it is so long that in order to have my fingers ready on the "trigger" I could only have one hand to keep his jaw open and I couldn't stop him from pushing my other hand away from his mouth. I think this would work best on a long-snouted dog.

Pill popping magic
If you are giving cut pills, tiny pills or multiple pills to a cat, this pill popper works well if you put the medicine into Size#2 Empty Gelatin Capsules. The #2 capsules are a good width for this pill gun but a little long for my small cat to swallow smoothly, so I cut the longer piece of each capsule down with scissors before filling to make a nice compact pill that shoots easily. And I think my cat appreciates being "popped" only once with a capsule instead of two times in a row for the medications that she takes. The rubber tip on my first pill popper began to crack after about a year of daily use, but this one seems more flexible and holds the capsule without dropping it.

Excellent Piller for Small Animals
We have 10 cats and 2 German Shepherds. I have a couple of the larger bullet pillers, but they are very hard to use on cats, especially kittens. I was looking for something long, and slim enough to quickly pill the cats. The piller is excellent; it's made for smaller animals, like cats. I prefer to give pills over liquid medication to our cats, but cats can be very hard to medicate. Cats are as quick as lightning and since they don't have longer muzzles, like most dogs, it's hard to hold their upper jaw open to get the pill down. You need something long and quick, especially since we have a couple of cats that would give Tasmanian Devils a run for their money. The piller is long, which allows me to keep my hand well away from those sharp teeth; it's thin, so it doesn't scare my guys or make them choke like the Bullet Pill Gun. I have very small hands, and I have an easier time using this piller than the bullet.Since our guys were street urchins, they suffer from viruses that cause chronic upper respiratory infections. At all times, there is at least one animal on antibiotics; right now I have 3 cats on antibiotics, two are small kittens that we found on the street. The piller is thin and long; as a result I'm able to easily pill the tiny 5 week old kitten without sending him into a panic. My older cat, who I've always had trouble pilling, almost sleeps through getting his pill. For those of you with small hands, hold the unit so that the piller crosses your palm, with the pill end pointing toward your wrist. Place your index finger on the plunger, and hold the piller with your thumb and other fingers. Quickly open your pet's mouth and put the pill at their throat and gently, but quickly depress the plunger with your index finger. It dispenses the pills so quick and accurately, that there is minimal reaction from the pet. When I first gave a pill to the tiny kitten with the Bullet, he panicked and gagged; with this piller he takes his pills easily, with no trauma.I like it so much, I'm ordering a couple more to keep on hand.

It's not okay. At all. Really.
This pill gun was the best price and had no additional shipping charge. Arrived quite quickly. Works pretty well, except the plunger keeps coming out of the top. I still like my old pill pusher better, so we use this as a backup.UPDATE: 😠12/15I have continued to use this as my backup. I use the old pusher every day. Recently, I could not locate the daily pusher device, so I went to my back up (this product). I now discover the rubberish like part which is supposed to retain the pill, has split on the bottom, and can no longer contain the pill. I suppose if I duct taped it, and spilt the tape vertically, it may possibly work. But why? I only used it a few times! Absolute garbage. That is what this device is, is garbage.
