One-Hour Pickling Powder To Easily Make Japanese-Style Pickles, 10 Sachets

I cut cucumbers or turnip roots into bite size pieces and the powder makes great tasting pickles in a couple of hours. Pickles are great with a bowl of hot rice.

I’ve tried a couple of different Japanese pickling spice products. This one so far takes the cake. If you love Japanese food like I do, It is absolutely the most traditional flavor you’re looking for in a pickling spice. I like to use it for pickling Japanese cucumber. It’s super easy to do. Just slice up the cucumbers ( I’ll use about 2-3 cucumbers ) put ‘‘em in a ziplock bag add 1 packet of pickling spice ( there’s 10 packets in total ), work the spice through the cucumbers and pop ‘‘em in the fridge for an hour and you’re good to go.

Works well. The cucumbers are tasty and crispy. The problem is it gives me a belly ache. I’m not sure what ingredient is doing that.

My first time trying and this power is awesome! Literally in a couple hours you get pickled vegetables with mild flavor just by mixing any veggies with this powder in a Ziploc bag! Love it!

I use this as a base and add kimchi juice or soy sauce. Often times both. After an hour they are slightly sour. However, I usually let it ferment for days. Hence, I make a large batch.I use a mandolin, make two or three fanned layers, then sprinkle half a packet before placing another layer. Repeat sprinkle. I normally don't shake, but that's because I pour in the liquid ingredients mentioned above and let it sit.
