Great gift
I bought the Pronto Seed Growing Set (Herbs) as a gift for my sister in India, and it turned out to be a thoughtful, unique surprise. It arrived in good condition and fairly quickly, considering it was an international delivery. The packaging was neat and gift-worthy, and my sister loved the concept right away—especially since she enjoys cooking and had been wanting to grow her own herbs. The kit includes everything needed to get started: seed packets, biodegradable pots, soil pellets, and clear instructions, which made it beginner-friendly.She planted basil, parsley, rosemary, and chives, and so far, most of the seeds have sprouted well (basil and rosemary were the fastest). The quality of the seeds seems reliable, and watching them grow has been genuinely satisfying for her. It’s also a nice way to bring a bit of green into a small kitchen or balcony.Overall, it’s a charming, meaningful gift—especially for anyone who loves cooking, gardening, or just needs a little greenery in their space. Would definitely recommend, especially for gifting across borders!

Grown in less then a week
Planted a seed in each of the pots on the day I recieved them. And a week later I have 4 out of 5 seedlings (the last one is just peeping through).

Not recommended. I'm a competent gardener but few of these seeds germinated
Rubbish. Based on previous experience of growing from seed think it's fair to say I have the gardening skills required for this but I got poor results. Bought 2 packs of these for a bit of fun growing competition with my neighbour. I used both their growing medium, and also put some spare seeds in good quality sowing compost, plus used a germinator. All the tomato seeds sprouted, but only 2 radish (of 7 seeds planted) and 1 carrot (of 7 weeds planted). No Pepper or Chilli (which are, frankly, the most interesting seeds here - the other 3 are fairly boring seeds you can get anywhere).I conclude: Poor quality seed (and growing medium).Definitely NOT recommended. Just buy seeds from a garden centre, use some good quality sowing compost and a germinator (all cheap) and you will get better results.

Too wet
Use less water than stated for the dehydrated soil it was too wet and not enough. Pricey for what is in the box

Instructions unclear at time of purchase
The biggest "gotcha" when you unpack this set and read the instructions pamphlet is that two of the seeds types (juniper and larch) need to be "wintered" by sticking them in the fridge for three whole months before planting. Yes, really. This means that unless you set this up three months in advance, you're probably not going to have all five types growing at once in the display stand.I chose to make a start on the types that do not need to be wintered - the pine, redbud and sweet gum. Of these, only the pine seeds germinated. They look *nothing* like the photos in the product description, by the way. Presumably some other type of seedlings has been photoshopped in.Lastly, the amount of each type of seed you receive varies wildly. Some contain just enough seeds for a single attempt, while others (like the pine) seem to shower you in seeds. It's a nice gift *idea*, but the three month wintering stipulation for the Juniper and Larch seeds makes it impractical to try again if the seeds do not germinate on the first attempt. At the time of writing this review, it has been three months since I purchased this kit. I have just attempted to plant the juniper and larch seeds. Fingers crossed that they do better then the redbud and sweet gum.
