I searched and reviewed hundreds of umbrellas and settled on this one. My research kept bringing me back to this brand. Here is why I chose this particular model over others:The company is relatively close to my home in SoCal, I love the rectangular shape, several colors, 360 degree rotation, weather resistant painted aluminum support and struts, UV protected fabric, waterproof, and the base INCLUDED (these run anywhere from $200-500)! You can deploy the umbrella fully or partially, at an angle to maximize shade depending on where the sun is located. Note: No cover included, but those are reasonably priced from this and other vendors.The product came in two boxes (one for the umbrella and one for the base). It comes 90% preassembled. You only have to assemble the main mast and the base. The instructions are straight forward, simple to understand and the required hex wrench is included with the hardware. The umbrella itself is NOT too heavy but you ARE required to lift it to place it onto its stand. You MIGHT require the assistance of an additional person to do this part. I recommend using a small ladder or utility stool for this part. If you are elder and/or cannot lift heavy objects know that the umbrella weighs between 50-60 lbs (the box indicates 60lbs, but has a basic stand that you WONT be needing since you have a separate base). Once it’s on its stand and the base has been filled with water it is easy to deploy. You 100% absolutely need to have the base filled or it will tip over. DO NOT FULLY OPEN THE UMBRELLA UNTIL THE BASE IS COMPLETELY FILLED!! The instructions also provide detailed instructions on permanently attaching to a metal base bolted to concrete, a wooden patio deck or into the ground. The equipment required for this is NOT included. You need to order it separately. Finally, I do NOT recommend leaving it opened overnight or when you aren’t around to keep an eye on it. This umbrella is essentially a HUGE sail and the wind WILL lift it regardless of the water-filled base. So, BEWARE. Finally, apart from a separate cover, you might give strong consideration to purchasing and apraying the umbrella with “3M Scotchguard UV Outdoor Sun and Water Shield”. They are yellow cans and are reasonably priced on Amazon. I used one can per umbrella (I purchased two umbrellas). For the cover, I purchased the 96 inch “Duck Cover Umbrella Cover.” Unfortunately, it only came in brown (shown in photo), but that’s OK. You might be more particular, so you will have to look around. Just remember it needs to be 96 inches tall and about 13 inches wide.A final thought: this model has a STRAIGHT (vertical) main mast. There are others that have an arched mast which, depending on your need, could be a better choice for you. If you do buy one with an arched main mast, you will need a cover that can accommodate that type of umbrella. The one I am showing above will NOT work for an arched umbrella main mast.As a suggestion to the manufacturer: perhaps you might consider adding an additional metallic/reflective layer underneath to help reflect the solar heat. The dark color absorbs the heat from the direct sunlight, so although you are under the shade, you do feel the radiating heat.Hope this review helps!

The media could not be loaded. I liked that the base came before the umbrella. That way I figured out how much sand I would need to fill them up. I read where some people were just using water but also read that sand should fill the weights 90% then the rest water. I only have one bag of sand in each. 50 lbs. seems good but I could probably adjust that a bit. It seensvery solid and the base hasn’t moved. I used a wide mouth funnel then tilted the base so the sand would fill up pretty good. I did add at least 20% water with hose trickling.Directions were not good but the first few were easy then you needed to examine each piece to make sure you had it right.I was working alone and the umbrella seemed unsteady in trying to put it on base so I laid it down. Then I attached it and stood the base up. I’m over 60 and female. Yes, it can be done.This 11’ umbrella seems to be plenty large for my small round table and then some. I’m hoping it will go from scorcher to a nice usable patio.I chose this over one of those portable 4-corner tents because I’ve seen one little plastic piece break and it renders it useless. I also didn’t want a 6’ umbrella because as soon as sun moves, someone’s legs are burning.Seems very solid. I bought a light for it too.

We really like this umbrella. The set up was easy. Directions were clear. The base shipped separately and was delivered first so originally I thought something was wrong with the shipping. When I contacted the company they answered right away explaining how the base comes first. Sure enough the umbrella was delivered the following day. Later they contacted me to ensure everything was good. Great customer service with a quality product! Definitely would recommend this umbrella. We had a really expensive one from the big box store and like this one better. Better price and quality.

Oh wow beautiful addition to the deck. I have an average sized, on the smaller side deck and because of how my house is situated, the sun is blazing on it nearly most of the day. So much so that my brand new stain was pretty faded within 6-7 months. The sun beats down on it relentlessly, no trees or shade to speak of. Decided to use my Capitol One rewards for this purchase to protect the deck and actually enjoy the new deck I just had built and I am very glad I did!Filling the base is kind of a hassle. Looks like there are some recommendations throughout the reviews on how to best do this. invest some time in looking--more than likely helpful.I put it together by myself and yes it's heavy. Everyone is 100% correct--the directions are junk. With a few small additions, it could actually be helpful. Only gave it 4 stars because when I sat the umbrella in the base there are 2 holes that are supposed to align where you insert a "screw" and the other where you insert a knob. Well the two holes did not align. The bottom hole aligns perfectly to insert the screw, but the second hole sits just slightly high enough where I cant get the knob in so I just left it out.Aside from the poor instructions and the lack of alignment, this was a worthy investment. It is so nice to sit under the umbrella in some shade. It's so nice to be able to walk on my deck barefoot without my feet burning due to the heat of the sun. Bumbles bees landed on my deck and died! it was that hot! This was a worthy purchase. Recommend.

This umbrella looks great and works really well in the South Florida year round sunshine! It was good to find it in a rectangular size, which is perfect for the space outside we use it in. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the item. It’s sturdy and stable when opened. Great customer service from the selling company as well. There was a small tear in it when we got it and the company immediately replaced it with no problems at all and followed up to be sure we were satisfied with our purchase (and we are). If you’re in the market for an outdoor umbrella, be sure it get it from this company.
