I'm so happy my husband remembered these locks for sliding glass doors when we had baby grandchildren. One day, I found the patio sliding doors unlock on both sides. Security in the home is important. Since we could not find a reasonably priced service, I found these were still available. Worked like a charm, we even offset one so we can open the door a little to let the fresh air in. Strong and sturdy.

I live in an apartment and the windows and sliding glass door do not lock. I use these locks instead. They are so simple and work great. They have replaced the pole I used to secure the sliding door. 100% satisfied with this purchase.

super discrete, easy to use, and tougher than you may think.I recommend you adhere the lock as close to your door in its closed/locked possession as possible. Ours is about 1/2 an inch away from the edge of the door and more than once has my 2 year old opened the door that half inch and closed it on her little brother's finger.. ouch. That's my own fault. I'm also worried that the little bit of momentum you can get in that space will one day break the plastic. I have a back up so I'm not too worried.ps I don't move it because I'm worried the adhesive isn't the right type to be able to move it

These are much smaller than I expected which is probably okay that they are not so noticeable and they do seem to do the job they are intended to do. I put one at the bottom and one at the top of each window. The windows in our converted garage can easily be entered once opened all the way. Once tightened, the clamps stay in place and the window can only be opened to the point that the bracket allows. I did put a small piece of vinyl shelf paper inside the clamp to prevent the screws from marring the surface of the window.

I bought these so my windows would only open a little bit and not allow my cats to squeeze through. But when i tried ro install it, i found my window sills are a mere 1-2mm too large for these, so I had to use a little pressure to get them on. This ended up leaving some very small scratches on one of the windows. And another one had a little extra lip that it wouldn't go over, but it did slide on eventually.Does it work? Yes. And fortunately the scratched one is in a room that I don't use often and you can't see unless you look for it. Once it got through, then it will slide freely so you can position it. If I need to remove them to open the window further, I will untighten it and slide it over, but I don't want to do that too often because it will leave marks.If you don't want to risk it, try it first and return if needed. But scratches appear to come with the territory.
