If you want to make Japanese curries, but the roux blocks have a bit too much salt or something else you're not supposed to have, this is a great option. I end up with the same flavor and I can adjust where I need to.

I received the all red can, not the red and yellow can. S&B seems to have changed the can slightly, but the ingredients are identical. This is the classic S&B Japanese Curry powder.Warning - you can NOT just dump this in a pot and get classic Japanese curry. Many (most?) Japanese curries are made with roux, a flour based paste made with this curry powder. If you want classic Japanese curry, find a recipe to make the roux using this powder.This curry is one of my favorite curry powders ever. It has the right mix of spicy (slightly spicy) and aromatics. It tends to have more depth than Indian and similar curries, as it is a more complex mixture. It is specifically made for that classic Japanese curry taste. it is excellent. Five Stars!

I like Japanese curry powder.. I find it to be sweeter and less harsh than an Indian curry powder. S&B is a good brand.

Awesome curry way better then regular store curry

Absolutely love this curry! It’s from Japan.We visited Japan a few years back so we know they have quality in everything.It’s preferable that it’s from Japan, so I only want to purchase this brand and flavor.But it seems to go out of stock and the prices go up too. But I still always purchase it. It went out of circulation at my local grocer so I found it here on Amazon.It’s so aromatic and delicious. It immediately enhances every dish it’s used in. I use it in my chicken soup and it elevates my chicken broth along with some sherry and oil and hot pepper sauce splashes.Best curry around!!! Try it. You won’t use another curry powder after this!

This is the only curry powder I will use
