TFA dual timer
My old kitchen timer fell off its magnetic mount and ceased to function so I looked for a similar model and I found this. This has the advantage that it is dual channel and the two timers operate independently of each other. Both timers can be set for up to 99 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds and count down when the start/stop button is pressed. The relative timer is selected by use of the T1 or T2 button then the time is set using the HR, MIN and SEC buttons. Once the timer has been started the T1 or T2 LED flashes green at intervals to indicate that the timer is active. When the timer has counted down to 0 the audible alarm bleeps and the T1 or T2 LED flashes red, then the timer counts up to indicate the time that has elapsed since the alarm began. The bleeper volume can be set to mute, lo or hi but lasts for a relatively short time so the elapsed time indication can be useful. There is also a memory button, M, that is used to set a frequently used time that can be recalled later. Usefully, it has three means of mounting, a magnet, a stand and a keyhole slot. It is available in black or white, though I bought the white version to better match the décor. Finally it is made in Germany so it is of high quality. Overall a very versatile and useful piece of equipment.

The green flashing countdown LEDs are dazzingly bright, but otherwise a well thought out dual countdown timer and stopwatch.
I had just bought the Mudder Kitchen Timer with Large LCD Display but we found the incessant loud beeping every time a digit is added to the timer very annoying, so I looked for an alternative and chose this TFA-Dostmann dual count-down timer (Model C5080). It's quite large at 9cm wide x 8cm x 2cm and it's silent when you press the setup buttons, and as the countdown timer numbers increase. The timer comes with an 11 page English instruction booklet as it's quite complicated with its dual countdown beeping/flashing LED timers. It counts down from any time up to 99 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds. There's separate hours, minutes and seconds buttons, so not having to hit a button 60 times for each hour is a real boon. Once the countdown has completed, the timer will then count upwards showing the elapsed time since the timer 'finish' alert sounded. It runs on 2 x small AAA alkaline batteries (not supplied). The timer has a one year warranty. Its timer's case isn't waterproof, although it should survive the odd splash. The only negative I can see is that the timer gives a very bright green LED flash every 5 seconds for each channel, and that really zaps the eyes so much I can't look directly at the timer when it's counting down. However it turns to a softer red LED after the timer has sounded (with a lot of flashing when the timer sounds off at zero). In fact you can set the timer to just flash LEDs (silent), or beep quietly, or beep loudly when the alarm sounds, and unfortunately the bright green LEDs will flash for all three volume settings, plus it double flashes in sync if both T1 and T2 channels are counting down (the green LEDs are a great feature but it can set off my migraine as it's so bright). To access each countdown for setting you have to press T1 or T2, so every timer action takes a couple of button pushes as you have to select T1 or T2 first. There's also a stopwatch mode to just count upwards. The timer stands up on it's own quite well and there's a retractable leg stand for extra stability. Plus there's two magnets for sticking to metal surfaces and a lift up loop to hang the timer on things (a wall mount). The timer can also memorise one countdown time for each T1/T2 channel. This timers well built, well finished and has a rugged heavy feel to it. Other than the bright green LED flashing I really like this timer, so 4.5*. There's no clock function. This dual timer is manufactured (in China) by the German instrument company TFA Dostmann, and there's also a single timer countdown version, Model C5079.PS. The timer's case is very easy to take apart via removing the 4 small cross headed screws (with a jewellers/glasses screwdriver), but when you refit the case back on, you must push down the front S/S button as you clip the case back together again otherwise the S/S button will snag (get stuck down). I looked inside to find a way to mute the LED brightness internally but it proved too laborious to access the LEDs on the main board and so gave up. I just point the timer towards the wall instead.

Handy Timer with a Minor Flaw
The dual-timing function is very convenient. However, it's a bit disappointing that there is no power off button — the instructions advise removing the battery to turn it off, which feels a little inconvenient.

Excellent product
This is a great timer for the kitchen - very easy to use and with nice clear digits. In addition, the batteries last fro an incredible time. I've had one in the bathroom to time the shower and it sounds an alarm at least once a day and yet after being in constant use for several years, the batteries are still showing as good in my battery tester, so I'm well impressed on this factor alone. In fact, I've just purchased another one to use as a timer for my new electric toothbrush. Highly recommended.

No more burned roasts or bread dough escapes!
This sits neatly in a space on my spice rack. It works as advertised and if reliable it will be a valuable addition to my kitchen. While timing, every few seconds, the LEDs flash bright green or red if you are over the time. I'm easily distracted and this device should prevent my bread dough overflowing onto the work-tops or joints of meat roasting to a cinder, setting off the smoke alarms! UPDATE: 18 months later this is still working well.

Great timer
This is such a good timer! I bought one about 18 months ago, but unfortunately spilled a mug of tea (with milk and sugar) over the table that the timer was sitting on. I rinsed the timer off as it was sticky and dried it, but I was not surprised that it didn't seem to be working after that. However, I put it in the airing cupboard and after a few days it dried out, and started working again! When I opened the battery compartment, I realised that it still had its original batteries, so they have lasted very well. I have not had to use the new timer yet, since the original is still working, but I'm glad to have it as a backup. The timer works well, and I find the double timer very useful - it can also be used as a stopwatch. It's the best timer I have ever had.

Easy to use, working after 2 years
Bought ours over two years ago, still working good as new.Clear display, easy to use, sticks to the fridge, fits in a pocket. And it doesn't feature an annoying clock needing resetting twice a year and when the batteries are changed, which hasn't been needed yet. (I already have four time displays in the kitchen, and don't want another.)

Great dual timer but screen angle is wrong!
This is an excellent dual timer but with one major problem - the angle for reading the display is wrong. The fold-out stand places the display too vertical so that the figures are not very visible. However I was on the point of returning it when I remembered that I had a spare phone stand. That is now perfect and the screen is very visible when I'm cooking.
